Job Title: Operations Research Data Scientist
Job Description: The University of Phoenix, Inc. seeks an Operations Research Data Scientist in Phoenix, AZ to design, develop and program statistical and analytical solutions to deliver business insights for the management, planning and optimization of operations, strategies, and student learning.
What You’ll Do
Translate ambiguous business questions and concerns into specific quantitative questions to be answered with available data. Resolve problems in business planning, management and optimization projects. Research and develop solution products for business processes in Statistical Interference/Analysis/Modeling, Machine learning and Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms, Data Mining and Modeling, and Big Data Query. Design, coordinate and execute pilots or proof of concepts to evaluate new initiatives, technologies and frameworks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy data science solution and utilize the insights and recommendations generated by analytical models. Drive volume forecasts into the planning exercise for investment decisions with finance and the leadership team. Create optimal short-term plans for businesses by managing trade-offs between Students Experience/Service Levels, Employee Experience, and Cost Effectiveness. Propose and design effective data visualizations for reports, presentations and analytical products to highlight key insights, relationships among features and research findings. Communicate project results to ensure reports are created using credible qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Advise management and project stakeholders on recommended courses of action based on final model output. Evaluate effectiveness of new data sources and practicality of analytics platform . Stay abreast of current trends, analysis and research in the industry. Position may telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. 5 days per week. Annual salary: $98,739.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science , Statistics, Industrial Engineering or a related field plus 1 year of data science experience in a higher education environment:
