County of San Diego seeks an Operations Research Analyst for the Emergency Medical Services Bureau of San Diego County Fire to research and analyze economic, mathematical and statistical data to forecast trends and evaluate current processes.

Operations Research Analysts assist higher level management with researching, formulating, and analyzing economic, mathematical and statistical data to forecast trends and evaluate current processes.
Under general direction, incumbents apply advanced methods, such as mathematical modeling and predictive analysis, to analyze complex data and to formulate hypotheses and recommendations on a multitude of variables including data on demographics, economics, legislative impacts, and statistics.
Incumbents utilize the latest analytical methods and tools from mathematics, science, and engineering that involve having knowledge of mathematical statistical methodology, queuing theory, analysis, and predictive analysis.
San Diego County Fire is responsible for managing fire protection and emergency medical services within the San Diego County Fire Protection District (SDCFPD). This work is completed through a partnership with CAL FIRE where professional firefighters staff 21 fire stations with a paramedic-level response. In addition, County Fire oversees three ambulance services with over 40 full-time ambulances and nearly 37,000 annually.
Additional responsibilities for County Fire include the Local Emergency Medical Services Agency (LEMSA) that provides regional oversight and leadership within the EMS system and responsibility for enforcing the fire code within the SDCFPD. County Fire staff work collaboratively with other County departments to maintain fire stations and fleet and provide critical preparedness resources to our most vulnerable residents.
