Job Description Summary

GE Vernova Gas Power engineers cleaner, more accessible energy that people depend on, powering growth and prosperity around the world. Through relentless innovation and continuous partnership with our customers, we are building the energy technologies of the future while delivering the reliable power our customers depend on today.
As the Operations & Quality Leader, you serve as the strategic partner and Chief of Staff to the General Manager of Heavy Duty Services ITR Engineering. You are the definitive owner of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) and the architect of our operational heartbeat. You own the governance, performance visibility, and execution frameworks for a 500+ person team, ensuring our $2B revenue portfolio is delivered with uncompromising technical integrity and operational discipline.
Success in this role means translating our strategy into flawless execution. You will hold the organization accountable to the "Zero Defect" standard, drive data-driven decision making, and reinforce the GE Vernova Way: drive innovation, serve our customers, win as one team, and hold ourselves accountable for excellence.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Quality Management System (QMS) Ownership: Serve as the ultimate authority for the HDS ITR Engineering QMS. Lead the development and enforcement of "Zero Defect" quality standards. Monitor design accuracy, rework rates, and technical compliance, ensuring that every engineering deliverable meets our rigorous safety and quality requirements.
  • Operational Governance: Own the operating system for the HDS ITR Engineering organization. Set and manage the annual priority roadmap, operating rhythms, and leadership cadences. Ensure all leadership discussions are action-oriented, data-based, and prioritized by SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost).
  • Performance & KPI Rigor: Define and manage the organizational "dashboard." Establish clear metrics for engineering cycle time, quality escapes, and capacity utilization. Use data-driven insights to surface risks early, provide executive-level decision support, and hold functional leaders accountable to commitments.
  • Strategic Initiative & Program Management: Translate HDS ITR Engineering priorities into executable plans, milestones, and governance. Provide operational leadership for critical initiatives, including Engineering 2030, productivity actions, value stream improvements, and operating model transformations.
  • Demand & Capacity Management: Drive global resource planning. Partner with functional leaders to balance demand against capacity, ensuring we are correctly resourced for proposals, project execution, and technical risk reduction.
  • Financial & Program Leadership: Manage budget planning and cost-center discipline. Identify risks and opportunities early, recommend mitigation actions, and drive follow-through to deliver committed business outcomes.
  • Executive Partnership, Communication & Flow: Serve as a trusted proxy for the GM. Manage the organization's communication strategy—including leadership updates, All-Hands content, and business reviews—to create clarity and alignment. Ensure high-impact information flows efficiently across the global team and that leadership time is focused on the highest-priority business issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering operations, quality management, or program management within an industrial technology environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and managing organizational change in a complex, matrixed environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Quality & Compliance Expert: Deep experience leading an ISO-standard or equivalent QMS; proven track record of preventing escapes and driving a "right-first-time" culture.
  • Decisive Operator: A bias for action. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making sound recommendations under pressure.
  • Executive Presence: Ability to synthesize technical, financial, and organizational data into clear, decision-ready messaging for senior leadership.
  • Servant Leadership: Thrives in a collaborative "One Team" culture; builds trust and removes obstacles to enable team success.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Expert at using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) to drive continuous improvement and hold teams accountable.
  • Change Agent: Restless dissatisfaction with the status quo; proactive in identifying blind spots and streamlining inefficient workflows.
