Senior Quality Engineer – Combat Vehicles Operations (Weekend Shift)

The BAE Systems site in York, Pennsylvania is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer for its weekend shift (5 AM – 5 PM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). The role involves developing, modifying, applying and maintaining quality evaluation and control systems and protocols in a fast‑paced, heavy manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include ensuring requirements are met through various operations processes across multiple vehicle platforms, defining specific tasks and priorities to support operational quality, and providing direction to inspection personnel as required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline with at least two (2+) years of related experience, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of Quality Assurance / Quality Control fundamentals and previous experience in a QA/QC role.
• Experience operating within ISO 9001.
• Background in problem‑solving techniques (A3, 5‑Why, DMAIC, etc.).
• Proficiency with standard and industry‑related software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Capability to support the weekend shift.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Experience leading or supervising a team.
• ASQ certification.
• Experience in a quality program supporting government contracts, preferably DoD.
• Formal training in root‑cause analysis.
• Experience implementing APQP in a low‑rate, technically complex product environment.
