Job Summary:

Provides technical guidance on in-store business systems and monitors compliance of store operations programs for exchanges worldwide.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Conducts operational store visits to determine compliance with headquarters directives, objectives, policies, and programs as they relate to retail store operations. Makes recommendations to the Senior Operations Program Specialist to improve efficiencies and operating results based on store findings.

Advises on store operations, with a focus on increasing operational efficiencies through fixture optimization, store layout, facility modernization, and renovations, as well as the implementation of updated equipment and information systems. Ensures compliance with corporate standards of customer service. Works closely with store personnel to motivate them towards greater efficiency and effectiveness in achieving operational goals.

  • Studies technical publications on in-store processes and equipment to ensure ease of support and guidance for field activities. Keeps abreast of commercial trends and their applicability to exchange operations, as well as best business practices.
  • Assists the Senior Operations Program Specialist in developing, training, and executing procedures and processes related to all in-store business systems.
  • Creates IT Service Desk Manager (SDM) Support Incidents/Change Orders. Resolves and responds to inquiries, questions, and requests for IT SDM Support Incidents and Change Orders submitted to Code NR, escalating issues and concerns as applicable.
  • Utilizes software tools such as RMS, RDW, POS, SIM, SMU, Store Connect, and MobaXterm to manage product assortment, pricing, inventory, and other management functions.
  • Serves as Code N lead for various corporate programs/initiatives as required, including enterprise-wide annual inventory for greeting card vendor, Navy Marine Corps Relief Society Benefit Campaign (twice annually), Quality Assurance (QA) Audits of ASN Suppliers/deliveries with store locations and Code S, NEXTgen Scholars Program, Code N Records Officer overseeing the Code’s records management program
  • Assist with the review, testing, and implementation of new business systems, including the development of policies and procedures to support these systems.
  • Assist with the implementation of business systems, including user acceptance testing (UAT). Advises and makes recommendations to improve efficiency and operating results.

Prepares applicable documentation and briefings on current programs for Senior Management and All-Hands meetings.

Establishes and maintains constructive relationships with our Sister Services (AAFES, CGX, MCX) to ensure consistency in programs and policies.

Mantains an in-house stock of various Code NR materials to ensure availability for same-day distribution to field activities.

Exercises a high degree of independence and participates in decision-making across all areas of the organization, including strategic planning.

Participates in working groups to support HQ teams with RIEs (Rapid Improvement Events) and increase productivity and efficiencies.

Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Works under the specific supervision of the Senior Operations Program Specialist or the Retail Operations Branch Manager who establishes priorities and deadlines, defines the scope of assignments and reviews work in terms of overall achievement of objectives and goals.

A total of 6 years of experience as follows:

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Three years of experience in administrative, professional, or other responsible work that enabled the applicant to gain knowledge of store operation practices and procedures; skill in dealing with others in person‑to‑person work relationships, and the ability to exercise mature judgment.

OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE

One year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for nine months of experience, up to a maximum of a four-year bachelor's degree for three years of general experience.

AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Three years of progressively experience which provided a background in store operation management; including analysis of operating budgets, inventory management practices and procedures; development and evaluation of sales objectives and expense control programs; development and implementing sales promotion programs; or similar work that demonstrated the knowledge and ability to perform the work of the position.
