Role Clarification

This role does not perform daily production coordination, dispatching, or direct supervision of manufacturing cells. The Operations Program Manager owns operational outcomes and execution alignment, working through Production Coordinators, Cell Supervisors, PP&C, and functional leaders to ensure commitments are met.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Manufacturing Execution
  • Safeguards manufacturing performance outcomes (quality, schedule, cost, productivity) across assigned programs and value streams. Creates production build plans in accordance with customer requirements, production cell capacity, manufacturing procedures, and acceptance test plans.
  • Leads cross-functional resolution of material, capacity, and logistics issues; while the OPM does not perform transactional scheduling or expediting, it collaborates with supply chain, SIOP, quality, engineering, production coordination, and finance teams to identify risks and develop plans that support the program.

This role will be performed ONSITE in our Collins Aerospace location in Durham, NH.

What You Will Do
  • Acts as Operations focal for Critical Programs, compliant with the Collins Management System
  • Participates in and supports RLPM gate reviews from concept through production transition (Gate D - Endorsement and kick off)
  • Establishes review and transition criteria which indicate predictable quality, schedule and cost
  • Creates, Communicates and Drives adherence to the Production Plan
  • Identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities impacting operational performance.
  • Develop and execute cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead corrective actions and action plans tied to productivity, yield, and efficiency.
  • Facilitate integrated scheduling activities through Production Planning to align the master production schedule to program needs.
  • Escalates risks when schedules, capacity, or materials threaten delivery.
  • Drives recovery plans when schedules slip.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate operational risks to program plans.
  • Influence decisions within a matrixed organization and drive accountability to outcomes.
  • Interface with Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and internal customers.
  • Occasional travel of one trip per quarter.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance as required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
