Job Description

BAE Systems is hiring an Operations Program Manager (OPM) to oversee the operational execution and requirements of development and production programs within the Navigation & Sensor Systems (NSS) Product Line. The OPM will serve as the primary liaison for the business, managing operational aspects to ensure products are designed, built, tested, modified, and maintained for production. Throughout the development lifecycle, the OPM will lead efforts to meet schedule and cost goals and coordinate with department heads regarding events, actions, dependencies, and milestones for successful product introduction.

Responsibilities:
  1. Act as the main point of contact between Operations and the Program Office for status updates and problem resolution. Present operational status to customers and management as needed.
  2. Lead development-to-production transition plans for NPI products, including proposal efforts.
  3. Monitor and manage operational performance against the baseline program plan, focusing on quality, schedule, and cost.
  4. Collect and interpret operational data, presenting findings clearly to management and engineering teams.
  5. Create operational plans (manufacturing, sales) and schedules using departmental standards to guide functional departments.
  6. Review factory demand versus capacity, and support decisions on capital equipment and investments.
  7. Perform make/buy analyses and support supply chain initiatives.
  8. Support customer meetings such as design reviews and production readiness assessments.
  9. Ensure factory and supply chain readiness to meet program milestones and schedules.
  10. Coordinate with internal Operations teams to communicate and address changes impacting tasks.
  11. Promote teamwork across program phases.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Business, or related field, plus 6 years of experience or equivalent.
  • Experience in manufacturing, production management, engineering, or quality.
  • Ability to relate to personnel at all levels and drive continuous improvement.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to obtain or currently hold a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Knowledge of NPI processes from design to production.
  • Experience with AS9145/APQP standards.
  • Project management experience.
Pay Information:

Full-Time Salary Range: $105,254 - $178,931

Note: Salaries depend on various factors including skills, education, experience, and market conditions.
