• Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements for safety, cost-efficiency, and customer satisfaction
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, federal, state, and local guidelines
• Facilitate and monitor ongoing safety training and practices to reduce accidents and ensure a safe work environment
• Support inventory counts and reconciliation efforts
• Operate forklifts when necessary (must be or become certified)
  
  

Job Description

Position Summary

We’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate day-to-day operations, customer service, and purchasing activities at our San Fernando, CA facility. In this role, you’ll lead a team of warehouse and operational staff, promote a culture of safety and efficiency, and ensure exceptional service standards. This is a leadership role without direct hiring/firing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and coach warehouse leads and staff to foster teamwork, communication, and accountability
• Oversee warehouse operations and ensure compliance with safety regulations and audit protocols
• Collaborate with executive leadership (President, Comptroller, VP of Transportation, and HR) to align operations with business goals
• Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements for safety, cost-efficiency, and customer satisfaction
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, federal, state, and local guidelines
• Facilitate and monitor ongoing safety training and practices to reduce accidents and ensure a safe work environment
• Ensure housekeeping standards are met (clean dock, clear aisles, etc.)
• Support inventory counts and reconciliation efforts
• Operate forklifts when necessary (must be or become certified)
  
  

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Direct and support team leads and warehouse staff
• Ensure team compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal regulations
• Create a positive and productive work environment through effective leadership
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (2–4 years in warehouse or operations leadership)
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team-building skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Clear and professional communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Familiarity with inventory systems and barcoding (preferred but not required)
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, twist, push, and pull for extended periods
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs periodically
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with temperatures ranging from 40°ree;F to 115°ree;F
• Requires normal vision, depth perception, and color recognition
• Must respond effectively to audible alarms and verbal communication
