Qualifications

• Coordinate weekly timesheets for field and shop labor with accounting.
• Lead hiring, training, and performance management of field and shop personnel.
• Support estimating efforts including labor forecasting and material take-offs.

Role Overview A well-established mechanical contractor in NYC is seeking a General Superintendent – Sheet Metal Operations to lead and oversee the day-to‑day operations of their sheet metal division.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing field operations, shop production, and drafting coordination, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to‑day operations of the sheet metal division across multiple projects
• Oversee field crews, shop labor, and drafting teams to ensure seamless project execution
• Develop and manage project schedules aligned with cost and production targets
• Review contract drawings, specifications, and ensure compliance across all work
• Establish and implement project-specific sheet metal shop standards
• Manage procurement of materials, tools, and equipment for all projects

Requirements

• Proven ability to manage multiple crews and coordinate production workflows
• Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
• Experience working alongside drafting / CAD teams
• Knowledge of Local 28 work rules is highly desirable
• OSHA 30 certification required

Project Experience

• Commercial projects ranging from $50K – $1M
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects preferred
