Overview
Industrial Metal Supply Co. is a leading metals distributor founded in 1948 with seven locations serving California and Arizona. We are seeking a Fulfillment Manager to help deliver a superior fulfillment strategy and process, focusing on safety, efficiency, quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery. This role will spend a great deal of time in the warehouse leading from the front and will work second shift at least 2 days per month to support and identify opportunities. This position is located in Riverside, CA and will consider applicants willing to relocate.
Base pay range
$110,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr
Position overview
This role has end-to-end control over the order fulfillment process, from order receiving and processing through delivery. You will manage the fulfillment and store staff while collaborating with external partners to fulfill orders as quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively as possible.
Responsibilities
- Performs and supervises activities including receiving, stocking, order processing, customer truck delivery, and will call in the most effective manner through proper supervision of Warehouse Floor Supervisors and associates.
- Drive QMS performance to deliver safe behaviors, quality product, and meet all customer requirements.
- Drive better performance in all required safety and maintenance tasks across all shifts; create a team approach to preventing safety incidents and elevating accountabilities to the safety program.
- Model and enforce a "safety first" culture; ensure warehouse associates follow company safety rules.
- Elevate the role of floor supervisors to build high-performing teams, improve retention, and recognize achievements.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to connect operations to the customer experience and remove silo thinking.
- Implement best practices to achieve cost savings and improve KPI performance.
- Work with HR to develop the skillsets of all associates and establish warehouse training and development plans.
- Collaborate with HR to hire warehouse associates who meet quality and safety criteria.
- Partner withSales to deliver an exceptional customer experience and grow market share.
- Maintain a culture of quality in warehouse processes and systems, including handling, movement, packaging, paperwork accuracy, and order inspection.
- Coordinate ISO procedures for warehouse operations and ensure timely compliance.
- Maintain organized warehouse with properly tagged stock and lot/traceability information.
- Establish and monitor production standards and procedures for adherence and timeliness.
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedules for warehouse vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure daily checklists for processing equipment and vehicles are followed and documented.
- Provide feedback on the management and performance evaluation of direct reports; oversee supervisors' evaluations.
- Maintain open communication with regional leaders, ensuring management is informed about staffing and operations.
- Visit existing customers to evaluate changing needs and expectations.
- Monitor warehouse parameters including payroll, expenses, overtime, staffing levels, and safety programs; oversee facility maintenance and supplies.
- Maintain a clean warehouse environment and coordinate housekeeping across shifts.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressive warehouse operations experience including managing a team of at least 15.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Prior manufacturing background.
- Experience with laser or other metal fabrication techniques.
- Process and quality discipline.
- Familiar with workforce and labor planning.
- Strong data analysis and presentation skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making based on standard policy and procedures.
- Strong customer, quality and results orientation.
- Strong knowledge of company products and processing equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and IMS business systems.
- Knowledge of warehouse equipment such as forklifts and related processing equipment.
- Knowledge of ISO procedures.
- Knowledge of ASME B30.2 standards for crane operation.
- Sound personnel management and supervision principles.

Licences/certifications
- Valid California Class “C” driver’s license or equivalent.
- OSHA-compliant forklift certification (training available).
- OSHA-compliant scissor lift certification (training available).
