Operations Manager II Transportation Day Shift

Are you an energetic, team-oriented leader committed to customer satisfaction, excellence, and innovation? Penske Logistics seeks a proven leader with relevant experience to supervise drivers at our location. The Operations Manager provides leadership to ensure customer requirements are met while achieving Penske's goals and objectives.

Position Summary:

Lead teams in a dynamic environment to exceed goals, demonstrate commitment to customers, and develop and execute forward-looking plans. Manage resources effectively to achieve operational excellence and maintain a safety culture.

Major Responsibilities:
People
  • Train and develop supervisors and associates, ensuring understanding of their roles and objectives.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain quality staff.
  • Maintain effective communication and build strong relationships with team members, customers, and departments.
Operations
  • Meet or exceed customer KPIs and objectives.
  • Engage daily with customers to understand needs.
  • Identify operational improvements and collaborate across sites.
Finance
  • Develop and execute financial and operational plans.
  • Monitor metrics and P&L, making adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure accurate billing, payroll, and financial activities.
Safety
  • Lead a safety-oriented culture, ensuring compliance and proactive safety measures.
Growth/Customer Experience
  • Seek continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Track value delivered and identify profitable opportunities.
Fleet/Assets
  • Improve fleet utilization, maintenance, and fuel efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years related experience; 3+ years supervisory experience in DOT-regulated roles.
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage finances, lead change, and communicate effectively.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, lift up to 25 lbs, and meet vision requirements.

Schedule: Mon - Fri, Day Shift (hours vary). Salary: $67,600 - $91,200, bonus eligible up to 30%. Benefits available. Penske is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
