Job summary

AIT Worldwide Logistics in Georgia is seeking an Operations Manager II to establish and execute strategy for domestic and international freight movements, driving world-class service and growth across the station.

The role requires leading a team, coordinating carriers, negotiating terms, and ensuring timely, cost-effective operations while exceeding client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field (preferred).
• 7+ years international freight forwarding experience with P&L (preferred).
• 3+ years operations supervisory experience and managing a team (required).
• 1+ years experience in a diversified freight forwarding industry (required).
• Knowledge of procurement; operational and P&L management of global products and services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the station's operations strategy to enhance customer experience and maximize station performance.
• Ensure processes and metrics are in place to support growth, service, and profitability goals within the operations environment and other station departments.
• Manage and communicate with AIT's carriers ensuring best value and service versus objectives.
• Ensure providers meet and adhere to their service commitments and terms of service.
• Exhibit strong negotiating skills and execute provider agreements including spot rates.
• Track performance and develop strategic processes to improve efficiencies and reduce lead times.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to employees in a broad global environment.
• Build rapport with clients and develop new opportunities while creating and managing key visual tools and tracking processes.
• Support key account operations requirements and ensure service execution and reliability.
• Comply with all policies and standards.

Overview

TheOperations Manager IIis responsible for establishing and executing company strategy related to domestic and international freight movements through an understanding of industry trends and best practices. Recruit, develop and motivate staff to provide a world class customer experience and meet or exceed client expectations. Insure the station has the necessary tools in place to succeed and expand their business levels in international products lines in a sustained fashion. Work with current and prospective logistics services providers and internal AIT functional departments to develop the best overall strategy. Execution of those strategies includes establishing, measuring and managing to applicable metrics with service providers, vendors and internal AIT functions to ensure timely and efficient flow of product for AIT. This job is 100% in-site in the office.

• Actively support key account operations requirements and insure service execution and reliability.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree Logistics or related degree (preferred)

Experience

• 7+ years International freight forwarding, airfreight and ocean freightwith P&L experience (preferred)
• 3+ years Operations supervisory experience and managing a team (required)
• 1+ years Previous experience in a diversified freight forwarding industry (required)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Procurement skills; Operational and P&L management of global products and services in a high performance organization.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral with the ability to communicate to employees, manager and upper management levels.
