Job summary

AIT Worldwide Logistics is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the station’s operations strategy for domestic and international freight movements, build and mentor a capable team, and ensure excellent service to our customers. You will coordinate with carriers and internal teams to optimize performance, manage SLAs, and drive growth across global product lines in a dynamic, global logistics environment.

The role requires leadership, negotiation skills, and hands-on experience in freight

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in logistics or equivalent experience is required.
• 5+ years of international freight forwarding experience required.
• 3+ years of P&L experience and supervisory experience required.
• 3+ years experience in a diversified freight forwarding industry preferred.
• IATA certified and DG certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the station's operations strategy for AIT.
• Ensure processes and metrics drive growth, service, and profitability.
• Manage carrier relationships to optimize value and service.
• Negotiate freight forwarding carrier agreements and ensure SLA adherence.
• Track performance and improve efficiency to reduce lead times.
• Build rapport with clients and pursue new opportunities.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to staff in a global environment.
• Support key account operations and ensure reliable service.

Overview

The Operations Manager is responsible for establishing and executing company strategy related to domestic and internationalfreight movements through an understanding of industry trends and best practices. Recruit, develop and motivate staff to providea world class customer experience and meet or exceed client expectations. Insure the station has the necessary tools in place tosucceed and expand their business levels in international products lines in a sustained fashion. Work with current andprospective logistics services providers and internal AIT functions to develop the best overall strategy. Execution of thosestrategies includes establishing, measuring and managing to applicable metrics with service providers, vendors and internal AITfunctions to ensure timely and efficient flow of product for AIT.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the station’s operations strategy of AIT
• Ensure processes and metrics are in place to insure growth, service and profitability goals are accomplished.
• Manage and communicate with AIT’s carriers insuring best value and service vs objectives.
• Exhibits strong negotiating skills and execution in Freight Forwarding Carrier Agreements.
• Ensures providers meet and adhere to the scope of SLA (Service Logistics Agreement) and agreed terms of service.
• Ability to track performance and develop strategic processes and proactively improve efficiencies and reduce lead time lanes.
• Continue to build rapport with clients and work to develop new opportunities and create and manage key visual tools and tracking processes.
• Provides coaching and mentoring employees in a broad global environment.
• Actively support key account operations requirements and insure service execution and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in logistics or equivalent experience Required
• 5+ years of international freight forwarding, airfreight and ocean freight, Required
• 3+ years P&L experience, Required and 3+ years of operations supervisory experience and managing a team Required
• 3+ years Previous experience in a diversified freight forwarding industry Preferred
• 3+ years International Freight Forward industry experience Required
• Operational and P&L management of global products and services in a high performance organization.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral with the ability to communicate to employees, manager and upper management levels.
• High Advanced Computer Skills
• IATA certified, DG certification Preferred
