Location: Remote

Note: This position can work fully remotely, but new hires will be required to come to our main office located in Perrysburg, OH, for an initial 2-week in-person paid orientation and training period.

Position Description

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO AS AN Operations Manager AT SIGMA: Directs and manages the day-to-day activities of an organization''s operations, typically through subordinate operations managers. Provides full operational ownership of the programs to lead team performance while meeting time, budget, and quality metrics. Implements company policies, procedures, and initiatives. Evaluates and enhances current operational systems. Monitors performance against operational goals and develops reporting and auditing processes to analyze operational effectiveness. Coordinates operations with other functions.

  • Manages human and material resources, including personnel, schedules, scope and process adherence, and work assignments, to optimize productivity while delivering quality projects.
  • Clearly communicates and collaborates with team members to align with program goals and deadlines, leveraging individual strengths.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate team efforts and establish relationships at all levels.
  • Exhibits leadership skills in motivating others, with experience in team building and conflict management.
  • Oversees multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, streamlining operational processes to meet performance metrics.

Qualifications
  • Education – A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but management will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience – 8 years of experience with engineering, operations, and/or project management, including financial oversight and personnel development. 3+ years of management experience, with the proven ability to lead, motivate, and influence associates.
  • Second-level management experience is required (direct management of managers).
  • Experience in project scheduling, cost controls, tracking, and reporting methodologies.
  • Ability to develop plans and organize work to ensure efforts are focused, resources are aligned, progress is monitored, and targets are met.
  • Knowledge of financial principles to quantify costs and benefits of projects and to track and maintain project budgets.
  • Demonstrated business management skills, including consulting, customer service, and business acumen.
  • Ability to analyze information, form conclusions, and provide meaningful solutions.
  • Experience applying Project Management Institute techniques or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate team efforts and establish relationships at all company levels.
  • Proven ability to motivate and influence others, with team-building and conflict-management experience.
  • Availability during core hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time); occasional after-hours work as needed.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including overnight travel.
  • Valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, and insurance.
  • Ability to pass background check/drug test/driving record check.
  • Computer literacy – especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to endure frequent/lengthy driving, standing, walking long distances, rough terrain, and lifting up to ~20 lbs.
  • Must be able to endure frequent, lengthy periods of sedentary work and sit for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods.
  • Must have visual requirements to read and analyze data and figures.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in spoken word, often in group settings.
  • Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
