Cedar Crest Village by Erickson Senior Living in Pompton Plains, New Jersey is seeking an Operations Manager of Emergency Services to lead EMS professionals, ensure resident and staff safety, and deliver hospitality in emergencies.

You will oversee a 24/7 operation, act as incident commander when needed, conduct safety audits, and coordinate with external first responders while maintaining a culture of belonging and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public safety leadership or Emergency Management.
• Strong communication, customer service, and hospitality skills.
• Current and valid driver’s license; at least 1 year in an Emergency Responder role.
• Emergency Medical Responder Certification within 6 months of hire.
• OSHA 10-Hour certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support a 24/7 operation with continuous coverage and rapid response.
• Manage safety, emergency services, and customer service for community well‑being.
• Conduct audits, safety inspections, and OSHA compliance.
• Document investigations and preserve evidence as required.
• Respond to incidents as incident commander until relieved by a higher authority.
• Operate company vehicles safely per policies and laws.
• Liaise with external first responders.

Job Overview

In the Operations Manager of Emergency Services role, you will be responsible for promoting the safety and well‑being of residents, employees, and visitors. This Operations Manager role delivers exceptional customer service and hospitality, fosters a culture of belonging, and manages a team of EMS professionals who provide emergency medical services to residents, employees, and visitors.

Compensation: $73,000 - $83,000 annually plus a generous performance-based bonus.

How you will make an impact

• Support a 24-hour, 7-days-a-week operation, ensuring continuous coverage and rapid response at all times
• Assume overall responsibility for the safety, emergency services, and customer service approach to the well‑being of the community
• Conduct audits, testing, and safety inspections in support of Life Safety and OSHA compliance
• Conduct investigations, documents and preserves evidence as required
• Responds to incidents and emergencies of significance and serves as the incident commander until relieved by a higher authority
• Operate company vehicles safely and in accordance with established policies and applicable laws
• Serve as the liaison officer to external first responders

What you will need

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Strong communication and customer service, hospitality skills
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public safety leadership, Emergency Management, or comparable leadership experience
• Current and valid driver’s license
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in an Emergency Responder role
• Emergency Medical Responder Certification (within 6 months of hire)
• Professional Security Certification such as CPP, PSP, or CHPA (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification (provided if needed)
• OSHA 10-Hour certification (within 6 months of hire)
