Job summary

SP+ Corporation, a Metropolis company, is seeking a DOT-regulated shuttle operation supervisor in Cambridge, MA. The role oversees daily shuttle activities, supervises staff, maintains client relations, and ensures compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualified candidates should have 5+ years of supervisory experience in transportation, a CDL with Passenger Endorsement, and a DOT Medical Card. Availability for various shifts and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive supervisory or management experience in a transportation environment.
• License: CDL Class A, B or C with Passenger Endorsement as required by location.
• DOT Medical Card required.
• Availability for second/third shift and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Responsible for running the day-to-day activities of a DOT-regulated shuttle operation including, but not limited to, the supervision of employees, maintaining client relations, and ensuring that company standards are being upheld. Other duties include general accounting, general HR functions (hiring, terminating, and training) and claims review.

• Oversee customer relations to ensure that complaints, disagreements or misunderstandings about the shuttle bus operation or service are resolved diplomatically.
• Oversee daily shuttle bus operation.
• Supervise the quality of work for all employees to ensure that all work tasks and assignments are performed efficiently, effectively, and as required.
• Ensure that proper shuttle operations, security, cash control and customer service procedures are being followed by all employees.
• Handle all personnel issues and paperwork for hiring, termination and training of support staff.
• Supervise shuttle operations in order to ensure that incoming customers are served efficiently and properly.
• Monitor maintenance of the operation to ensure that it is clean and maintained according to company policies and procedures.
• Handle general accounting duties such as accounts payable, payroll, petty cash, and budgeting.
• Monitor and review all damage claims in order to assign responsibility for damages.
• Recommend and implement plans or programs to improve safety of operations to prevent the occurrence or reoccurrence of similar claims.

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 5+ years of progressive supervisory or management experience in a transportation environment preferred.
• Qualified candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• License Requirement: Per DOT Regulations, you will be required to have and maintain a valid CDL Class A, B or C Driver’s License depending on the location's hiring needs, with Passenger Endorsement if you will be responsible for operating shuttle buses with a passenger capacity of 15 passengers or more.
• DOT Medical Card: A Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required.
• Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location's hiring needs. If applicable, availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or week-ends may be required.

Salary: $95,000 annually per year
