Job summary

Country Pure Foods in DeLand, FL is seeking an Operations Manager Designate to support day-to-day plant operations across Safety, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, and Maintenance while preparing to assume full management responsibilities.

You will guide supervisors, drive continuous improvement, ensure production goals are met, and work closely with the Quality team to uphold HACCP compliance and safe, high-quality products.

Qualifications

• Two years supervising/leading others (preferred).
• Experience in a food processing environment (preferred).
• One year manufacturing experience (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Check and verify with supervisors and QA Manager that duties are completed accurately.
• Address GMP, safety, and security rules and regulations within the plant.
• Ensure production goals are met.
• Ensure all employees are trained on specific equipment.
• Monitor and observe all equipment and personnel in the plant.
• Ensure production supplies are on hand and used correctly.
• Verify daily production sheets and documents for safety and quality.
• Coordinate with sales to verify load schedules.
• Communicate with other plants to obtain raw materials and equipment.
• Respond to production emergencies and personnel issues.
• Assist Supervisors with production.
• Work with Quality to ensure a safe and quality product.
• Understand plant equipment and address issues promptly.

OVERVIEW

The Operations Manager Designate supports and assists with the day-to-day operations of the facility while preparing to assume full Operations Manager responsibilities. This role is actively involved in all operational areas—including Safety, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, New Projects, Maintenance, Materials Management, and Continuous Improvement.The Operations Manager Designate helps ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production by guiding supervisors and staff, monitoring processes, and driving operational performance. This role assigns daily tasks, ensures completion within expected timelines, supports production goals, and facilitates communication across departments. A key responsibility is partnering with the Quality team to uphold product safety and ensure full implementation of the HACCP program.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS

• Checking and verifying with the supervisors and QA Manager that all assigned duties are being completed and accurate.


• Address GMP, safety, and security rules and regulations within the plant.


• Ensure production goals are met.


• Ensure all employees are trained on specific equipment to ensure proper usage.


• Monitor and observe all equipment and personnel within the plant.


• Ensuring all production supplies are on hand and being used correctly.


• Verification of all daily production sheets and documents to ensure a safe product.


• Work with and contact the sales department to verify scheduled times for loads.


• Keep in contact with the other PFI plants to ensure we receive proper raw materials and we have all the production equipment needed.


• Must be able to respond to production emergencies and personnel issue.


• Be available to assist all Supervisors with production.


• Must work with the quality department to ensure a safe and quality product.


• Understand all plant equipment and be able to address issues or problems and ensure that the issue is solved in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

• Two years supervising/leading others preferred.


• Experience in food processing environment preferred.


• One year manufacturing experience desirable.

Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions.


• Ability to follow and comply with quality standards.


• Ability to comprehend and comply with GMP rules and Food Safety guidelines.


• May be required to obtain and maintain valid hi-lo license.


• Ability to work as contributing member within the team.


• Ability to frequently lift/move material weighing up to 50 pounds.


• Ability to operate a PC (keyboard/mouse).
