Blank Street is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee cafe operations across Washington, DC and Philadelphia. You’ll recruit, coach, and develop a team of General Managers, ensuring consistent training, hospitality, and brand standards at scale.

This role demands hands-on leadership, strong financials, and a passion for people development. You’ll travel regularly, optimize labor and scheduling, and drive customer experience while partnering with HQ on new initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operational leadership experience in hospitality, retail, or a fast-growing consumer business.
• Experience leading multiple locations and developing managers.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly between stores across Washington, DC and Philadelphia.

Responsibilities

• Lead our café operations across Washington, DC and Philadelphia, growing people and developing General Managers.
• Coach managers through performance, development, and employee relations with fairness and care.
• Ensure cafes deliver consistent, high-quality training and uphold Blank Street standards.
• Own the district's financial performance, including sales, labor, and profitability.

As an Operations Manager at Blank Street, you'll lead our café operations across Washington, DC and Philadelphia , with your greatest responsibility to grow people. You'll hire, coach, and develop a team of General Managers, helping them become confident leaders who build engaged, high-performing teams across our stores. In a fast-moving and constantly evolving business, you'll create clarity, build capability, and foster a culture of accountability, hospitality, and continuous learning. By investing in your people, you'll help scale the next generation of leaders while driving an exceptional experience for both our teams and our customers.

What You'll Own

People

• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team of General Managers.
• Create an engaging culture where people feel supported, challenged, and excited to come to work.
• Recruit and hire exceptional leaders in partnership with the People Team.
• Coach managers through performance, development, and employee relations with fairness and care.
• Ensure every café delivers a consistent, high-quality training experience.
• Lead labor planning, scheduling, and staffing strategies across your district.

Operations & Customer Experience

• Champion exceptional hospitality and hold your teams to Blank Street's standards for service, quality, and execution.
• Spend time in stores coaching teams and leading by example.
• Maintain operational excellence, food safety, cleanliness, and brand standards across every location.
• Partner with HQ teams to implement new initiatives, launches, and operational improvements.

Business Performance

• Own the financial performance of your district, including sales, labor, and profitability.
• Use data and insights to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships within the local communities to grow brand awareness and customer loyalty.

Leadership

• Lead through change with clarity and urgency as fast as easy levels...

Who We Are........

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of operational leadership experience in hospitality, retail, or another fast-growing consumer business.
• Experience leading multiple locations and developing managers.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly between stores across Washington, DC and Philadelphia .
• Strong operational, financial, and business acumen.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative, hands-on leadership style with the ability to coach, make decisions, and lead through change.
• Passion for hospitality, developing people, and creating exceptional customer and employee experiences.
• Curious, positive, and committed to continuous learning and growth.

Requirements

Full Time: 50 hours per week, 5 days of availability required and must be available to work 2 peak days (usually weekend days, weekend as described as Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

• $110,000 - $130,000 annual base salary
