Job summary

Flynn Group of Companies is seeking a Roofing Operations Manager to lead a commercial roofing division in Austin, Texas. The role focuses on building a high‑performing team, strengthening client relationships, and delivering value through execution of roofing projects.

The senior leader will drive growth, mentor staff, and represent Flynn at industry events while ensuring safety, quality, and profitability across projects.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish is a Plus.
• 10 or more years of experience in Commercial Roofing industry preferred.
• Strong people skills including abilities to teach, coach and mentor.
• B.S. degree in Business, Construction Management or related educational field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems required.
• Knowledge of sheet metal work is an asset.
• Knowledge of roofing systems required (EPDM, TPO, PVC, etc.).
• Accounting knowledge required.
• Engineering and/or drafting experience a plus.
• Computer proficiency in (Bluebeam and MS Suite) and ability to learn new Project management software’s as well as proprietary Flynn software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, while providing exemplary customer service.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for building a high‑performing, cohesive team and establishing consistent, reliable continuity across all roles and functions.
• Lead, manage, and support division staff in day-to-day strategic activities.
• Ability to meet goals and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Lead in the development and implementation of organization policies, best practices, procedures and attainment of operating goals for your team.
• Represent the company in new business opportunities through contact with individuals who are a critical part of new project opportunities.
• Represent company at industry events and client networking opportunities.
• Secure follow-up work with existing clients based on past performance.
• Lead and delegate project teams by providing guidance and direction.
• Qualify bids and lead the Estimating team through Bid reviews
• Oversee performance of projects to ensure safety, quality, profitability and timely execution of work.
• Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports including performance reviews.
• Ensure effective scheduling of all items/actions required to complete a project on time and on budget.
• Establish and maintain client relationships and develop a high level of trust and credibility with clients, alliance partners, subcontractors and project teams.
• Meet with the branch management team to review project financials and overall progress of division. Identify any projects that may be in trouble and resolution for getting back on track.
• Report identified potential business risk elements and design and implement mitigation efforts.Build and maintain relationships between industry leaders, associations and organizations.
• Exercise global decision making by considering other departments within the company such as project management, sales, estimating, accounting, purchasing, etc.
• Monitor and report on operational activities, staff and budget projections.
