Job summary

Talbots is seeking an experienced store leader for Store 00420 Brandywine, PA-Downingtown, PA. You will guide operations, coaching a diverse team to deliver exceptional customer experiences and sales performance.

You will manage floor sets, merchandising, and brand standards while ensuring compliance with policies and laws. This full‑time role requires open availability and is based at a premium retail location in Downingtown.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years in specialty retail with emphasis on store operations and/or visual merchandising.
  • Professional with strong work ethic, integrity and respect for others.
  • Customer‑centric mindset to drive sales and service.
  • Educator/coach to inspire team associates based on individual strengths.
  • Organized and strategic, able to make independent decisions in a fast paced environment.
  • Clear communicator of business information and brand initiatives.
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic and cooperative in a diverse environment.
  • Tech aptitude to navigate POS/iPad/handheld systems.
  • Comfortable with ladders, standing long periods and lifting at least 40 lbs.
  • Open availability for 40 hours per week, including openings/closings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Create a culture of hospitality and build enduring relationships with customers and internally.
  • Provide exceptional service to promote product and brand relationships.
  • Achieve sales and service metrics via clientelling, outreach and brand rewards.
  • Partner with the Manager to lead the team in all operational areas.
  • Plan and lead floor sets, displays, recalls and markdowns.
  • Educate and reinforce brand standards and company policies.
  • Balance operational and selling energy with proper scheduling and task prioritization.
  • Maintain knowledge of fashion trends and business drivers to maximize sales.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws.
  • Develop positive working relationships for a productive environment.

Who You Are:

  • An experienced leader, with two or more years of specialty retail experience with emphasis on store operations and/or visual merchandising.
  • A model of professionalism with strong work ethic, integrity, and respect for others.

  • Possess the technological aptitude to navigate, coach and train computer POS/iPad/handheld systems.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around regularly, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Able to bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry, and move at least 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business including opening/closing shifts as well as weekends and holidays.
  • Have open availability of 40 hours per week.

What You'll Do:

  • Create and foster a culture of hospitality through exceptional customer experiences and build enduring relationships both internally and externally.
  • Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
  • Achieve sales and service metrics in key measurable areas including: Clientelling/Outreach, Appointment Setting, Talbots Classic Awards etc.
  • Partner with the Manager to lead the team with ownership as it relates to all areas of operations.
  • Plan, execute and lead floor sets, window displays, interior marketing, recalls, markdowns etc.
  • Educate, train, and reinforce brand standards as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Understand the appropriate balance needed between operational and selling energy and ensure proper planning/scheduling and prioritizing tasks and responsibilities to meet the needs of the business.
  • Maintain knowledge of business and competitive landscape, fashion trends and key business drivers to strategically identify opportunities that will maximize sales and ensure financial goals are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships that support a productive work environment.
