Job summary

Lakeside Foods is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the plant's production, quality, safety and continuous improvement efforts. You will lead on the floor, drive performance, and manage all plant operations to deliver high-quality food products.

The role emphasizes leadership, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration to optimize production and efficiency. A related bachelor’s degree and substantial experience in manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3+ years leading manufacturing or processing operations (or 8+ years in manufacturing/processing).
• Proven ability to lead, motivate teams and drive continuous improvement.
• In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, quality control, safety standards, and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and supervise the operation function in production of a high quality, safe food product.
• Provide leadership on the operating floor, ensuring safety, health, environmental and quality compliance.
• Manage and supervise all plant operations areas for optimal performance.
• Promote employee engagement and development to maximize production, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Our Operations Manager offers a team-oriented individual the opportunity to be responsible for theplant operational systems including acquisition of raw materials, product processing, quality assurance, and the shipping of quality-finished products.

What You'll Do:

• Responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising the operationfunction in the production of a high quality, food safety product.
• Provide leadership on the operating floor striving for compliance in safety, health, environmental, and quality.
• Manage and supervise all areas of Lakeside's Plant operations to ensure optimal performance.
• Promote employee engagement and development to maximize production, quality, safety, and continuous improvement goals.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and at least three years of experience leading manufacturing or processing operations or eight years of experience in manufacturing or processing operations is required.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, drive performance, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• In depth knowledge of warehouse operations, quality control, safety standards, and resource management.
• Familiarity with plant functions including facilities, logistics, and maintenance is preferred.
• Knowledge of SAP a plus.
• Experience working in a union environment is preferred.
