Position Summary

Lynx Indy is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations Manager/ALS Coordinator to oversee and support daily clinical and operational activities while ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality emergency medical services.

The ALS Coordinator will provide leadership and operational oversight for Advanced Life Support (ALS) services, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, organizational policies, and clinical standards. This role requires a strong understanding of emergency medical services operations, medication management, regulatory compliance, and team leadership.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Paramedic and leader who can effectively coordinate personnel, resources, equipment, and clinical operations while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and quality of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily ALS operations and ensure efficient coordination of clinical and operational activities.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Paramedics, EMTs, and other assigned personnel.
  • Ensure ALS personnel maintain required certifications, licenses, training, and competencies.
  • Monitor compliance with organizational policies, state and federal regulations, and applicable EMS standards.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of DEA regulations governing controlled substances, scheduled medications, and narcotics .
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, documentation, security, administration, and accountability of controlled medications and narcotics.
  • Monitor medication inventories and assist with audits, discrepancy investigations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, coverage, and operational resources as needed.
  • Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Review clinical and operational documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Identify operational issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with leadership and clinical staff to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Assist with equipment readiness, maintenance, inventory, and replacement needs.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
  • Participate in staff education, orientation, training, and competency initiatives.
  • Respond appropriately to operational and clinical concerns and elevate issues when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism when working with patients, employees, leadership, and external partners.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Paramedic-level certification/licensure in the State of Indiana is required.
  • Previous experience working in EMS, ALS operations, emergency medical services, or a related clinical environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of DEA regulations and requirements related to scheduled medications and narcotics .
  • Strong knowledge of medication security, accountability, documentation, and controlled-substance handling.
  • Ability to interpret and follow applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an ALS Coordinator, Operations Manager, Clinical Supervisor, or EMS Supervisor.
  • Experience managing controlled-substance programs or narcotic medication accountability.
  • Knowledge of Indiana EMS regulations and requirements.
  • Experience with quality assurance/quality improvement programs.
  • Experience with employee coaching, performance management, and staff development.
  • Strong understanding of EMS clinical and operational workflows.
