Summary

The Warehouse Operations Manager oversees the administrative and operational functions of the warehouse. This individual is responsible for directing the activities of the warehouse management staff to ensure alignment with organizational and site-specific objectives. The manager is accountable for overall performance, including safety, quality, accuracy, productivity, and financial results. Responsibilities also include recruiting, hiring, and delivering corrective actions to employees, including the warehouse management team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to management and administrative staff for daily warehouse operations.
  • Assist the General Manager in developing objectives and action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor daily performance to meet quality standards, customer needs, regulatory compliance, safety, and KPI metrics.
  • Support coaching, counseling, and development of operations staff.
  • Contribute to budget preparation, capital expenditures, expense controls, and inventory management.
  • Manage external service providers and contractors.
  • Review operations reports for effective decision-making.
  • Partner with DM and HR Manager on corrective actions, including terminations.
  • Coordinate with corporate partners in Supply Planning, Customer Service, Finance, and HR to address business opportunities and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality audits.
  • Assume facility responsibilities in the absence of the General Manager.

Education and Experience
Minimum
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field
  • 6-10 years of warehouse management experience, preferably in food distribution
  • Experience with RF/bar coding and Warehouse Management Systems
Preferred
  • Strong communication and people management skills
  • Experience with JD Edwards One World and cross-docking operations
Technical Skills and Language Requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in dynamic, cross-functional teams
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an office or temperature-controlled environment, involving prolonged sitting and computer use. Some travel and site visits may be required. The environment ranges from -6 to 90 degrees.
