Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) required.
• Some prior marina/operations experience preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication and people skills are essential.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work weekends are required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise day-to-day marina operations for smooth progress.
• Interview, hire, and train staff for storage, fuel, maintenance, and Store tasks.
• Uphold high customer service standards and safety for staff and customers.
• Conduct daily dock safety checks and ensure cleanliness and functionality.
• Evaluate procedures and implement improvements to meet objectives.
• Coordinate with General Manager on strategic goals and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with other departments for efficient workflows.
• Attend monthly health and safety meetings and address action items.
• Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback to maintain service levels.
• Oversee customer support processes to enhance satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and spill prevention procedures.

ELS is hiring for the position of Operations Manager in West Palm Beach, Florida.

What You'll Do

The Operations Manager is the person responsible for supervising, coordinating, and executing the day-to-day on-site marina operations as they relate to boat movements, fueling procedures, equipment maintenance, routine inspections, and more. He or she should be a hands-on leader with a focus on safety and the ability to drive his or her team's performance, productivity, and efficiency through the implementation of effective procedures and strategies. The Operations Manager is also responsible for ensuring the safety and maintenance of dock structures and other facilities accessible to staff and customers. The primary objective of the Operations Manager is to ensure the marina is properly equipped with a competent and well-trained staff that is meets of our high standards of customer service the and the varying demands of the marina. The Operations Manager will also collaborate with the General Manager and other departmental managers to meet marina and interdepartmental needs and goals.

Your Job Will Include

• Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of marina operations to ensure smooth progress.


• Interview, hire, and train yard staff to perform daily day-to-day tasks for storage, fuel, maintenance, and Ship's Store.


• Demonstrate and uphold a high standard of customer service that will be imparted to subordinate members of the team.


• Perform daily walks of docks to ensure safety, cleanliness, functionality, and aesthetics.


• Evaluate the efficiency of marina procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements.


• Communicate with General Manager to make decisions regarding operational activities, set strategic goals, and discuss recurring issues, customer complaints, or inefficiencies.


• Collaborate with other department managers to facilitate an efficient and high-paced workflow.


• Participate in monthly health and safety meetings, and quickly address action items that affect customer/employee health and safety.


• Supervise staff to ensure high-level customer service, efficiency, and safety; Provide constructive feedback.


• Oversee customer support processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction.


• Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations.


• Execute spill prevention measures and know the procedures to follow in the event of a spill of any magnitude.

Skills & Experience You Need

• High School Diploma or GED (Associated Degree, B.A. or B.S. preferred)


• Some prior experience and/or industry knowledge is preferred.


• Demonstrated Leadership
