Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Management, or Related Field.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered in place of formal education.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Operations Management, General Management, Business Operations, Retail Operations, Distribution Operations.
  • Experience creating, implementing, or managing SOPs.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Industry Experience in Building Materials, Construction Supply Distribution, Home Improvement Retail, Wholesale Distribution.
  • Familiarity with Rental Property Operations and Property Maintenance Coordination.
  • Leadership experience managing teams of 10+ employees, with proven success in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across inventory, purchasing, rental property portfolio, and ensure consistency and accountability.
  • Develop, document, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage complete purchasing lifecycle and coordinate product ordering, inventory replenishment, delivery, and supplier relations.
  • Monitor inventory levels, forecast needs, and improve turnover and profitability.
  • Coordinate operational support for rental property activities, maintenance workflows, and tenant issues.
  • Lead KPI development, weekly/monthly reporting, and present insights to ownership.
  • Coach and develop team members; conduct annual evaluations and drive accountability.

Operations Manager (Building Supply & Property Management)

Are you an operations professional who excels at creating structure, improving processes, managing teams, and driving business performance? This role offers the opportunity to work directly with ownership, build scalable systems, improve operational efficiency, and play a key role in the future growth of a successful and expanding business.

As the operational right hand to the CEO, you will take ownership of store operations, purchasing, vendor management, performance reporting, employee development, and property management coordination while helping transform operational processes into repeatable, scalable systems.

This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building order from complexity and creating sustainable operational excellence.

You will have significant autonomy to implement processes, improve workflows, support team development, and drive business performance across both the building supply operation and the company's real estate assets.

Operational Leadership
Business Operations Management
  • Oversee daily operations across:

Procurement Oversight
  • Manage the complete purchasing lifecycle.

Inventory Management
  • Monitor inventory levels and purchasing trends.
  • Reduce excess inventory and stock shortages.
  • Support accurate forecasting and inventory planning.

Property Management Operations
  • Coordinate operational support for rental property activities.
  • Manage maintenance and repair workflows.
  • Ensure timely resolution of tenant and property issues.
  • Track property-related expenses and project status.
Maintenance Oversight
  • Coordinate internal personnel and external contractors.
  • Prioritize repair requests and maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor vendor performance and service quality.
  • Support preservation and value enhancement of company assets.
Business Performance & Financial Analysis
KPI Development & Reporting
  • Collect, analyze, and report weekly and monthly performance metrics.
  • Present business insights directly to ownership.

  • Schedule, track, and conduct more than 40 annual evaluations.

  • Provide guidance and direction to team members.

  • Address performance concerns proactively.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Team Communication
  • Act as a bridge between ownership and employees.
  • Ensure organizational goals and expectations are communicated effectively.
