Operations Manager (Building Supply & Property Management)

As the operational right hand to the CEO, you will take ownership of store operations, purchasing, vendor management, performance reporting, employee development, and property management coordination while helping transform operational processes into repeatable, scalable systems.

You will have significant autonomy to implement processes, improve workflows, support team development, and drive business performance across both the building supply operation and the company's real estate assets.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Business Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations across:
- Inventory Operations
- Purchasing Functions
- Rental Property Portfolio
- Ensure operational consistency and accountability.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for operational challenges.
Process Development
- Develop, document, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Create repeatable processes that support business growth.
- Standardize workflows across departments.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Procurement Oversight
- Manage the complete purchasing lifecycle.
- Coordinate:
- Product Ordering
- Inventory Replenishment
- Delivery Coordination
- Ensure products are available to meet business needs.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements.
- Evaluate supplier performance and reliability.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved purchasing efficiency.
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels and purchasing trends.
- Reduce excess inventory and stock shortages.
- Support accurate forecasting and inventory planning.
- Improve inventory turnover and profitability.
Property Management Operations
- Coordinate operational support for rental property activities.
- Manage maintenance and repair workflows.
- Ensure timely resolution of tenant and property issues.
- Track property-related expenses and project status.
Maintenance Oversight
- Coordinate internal personnel and external contractors.
- Prioritize repair requests and maintenance schedules.
- Monitor vendor performance and service quality.
- Support preservation and value enhancement of company assets.
Business Performance & Financial Analysis
KPI Development & Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and report weekly and monthly performance metrics.
- Present business insights directly to ownership.
Monitor metrics including:

- Labor Performance
- Track operational costs and margin performance.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support profitability improvement initiatives.

Team Leadership & Employee Development
Performance Management
- Manage and coordinate employee performance review programs.
- Schedule, track, and conduct more than 40 annual evaluations.
- Support employee growth and development initiatives.
Coaching & Accountability
- Provide guidance and direction to team members.
- Establish clear expectations and performance standards.
- Address performance concerns proactively.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Team Communication
- Act as a bridge between ownership and employees.
- Ensure organizational goals and expectations are communicated effectively.
- Promote positive employee relations and team engagement.

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in:
