Job summary

P-&-K-Stone,-LL is seeking an Area Manager to oversee recycling operations across multiple Texas locations. You will lead plant operators, drivers, and maintenance personnel, set production goals, and drive safety, quality, and efficiency across sites.

You will coordinate processing, sorting, crushing, and stockpiling of recyclable materials while ensuring OSHA and environmental compliance. The role requires travel between facilities and a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in recycling, aggregates, quarrying, construction materials, crushing/screening, or related heavy-industrial operations.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of aggregate processing, crushing, screening, material handling, and recycling operations.
  • Experience managing heavy equipment and industrial production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace safety and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to read and understand production, financial, and operational reports.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day recycling operations across assigned P&K Stone locations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop plant operators, drivers, maintenance personnel, and other operational employees.
  • Establish and monitor production goals, operational KPIs, and financial targets.
  • Ensure recycling operations meet or exceed productivity, quality, and profitability objectives.
  • Coordinate the processing, sorting, crushing, screening, and stockpiling of recyclable aggregate and stone materials.
  • Monitor material inventory, production volumes, product quality, and customer requirements.
  • Manage equipment utilization and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime and improve reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, company policies, and applicable local/state requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and operational audits.
  • Identify and correct unsafe work practices and environmental risks.
  • Manage labor, fuel, equipment, and other operating expenses within established budgets.
  • Analyze operating costs and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Coordinate transportation, hauling, and material movement as required.
  • Work with sales, dispatch, customers, and other departments to ensure reliable product availability and service.
  • Maintain accurate production, inventory, maintenance, and safety records.
  • Evaluate operational performance and implement continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure planning, and equipment replacement decisions.
  • Support the opening, expansion, or improvement of recycling operations and facilities.
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained and follow established operating procedures.
  • Investigate operational incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Travel between assigned facilities and job sites as needed.
