Our client in the heavy civil sector is seeking an Operations Manager to take full ownership of a portfolio of high‑value projects across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. You will oversee delivery from bid handover through closeout and partner with Executives to guide business growth.

You will mentor Project Managers, Engineers and Superintendents, set delivery standards, manage budgets and cash flow, and build long-term relationships with owners and authorities to win future work.

Formación

• 10+ years in heavy civil construction.
• Track record delivering complex projects (typically $50M+).
• Strong commercial skills: budgeting, forecasting, change orders and claims management.
• Excellent leadership, communication and client-facing skills.

Our client is an established heavy civil specialist with more than 40 years in the industry. They deliver complex projects for public and private owners across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Their core work is heavy civil, roadworks, site development and utilities with projects ranging from $20M-$300M+. They are known for building flagship projects with minimal disruption, and for a culture built on safety, quality and teamwork.

They need a Operations Manager to take full ownership of a portfolio of high-value projects. You’ll be accountable from bid handover through closeout. You’ll work closely with other Executives and help shape how the business grows.

What you’ll do

• Take full P&L ownership of a multi-project portfolio of high-value heavy civil projects with the authority to make the calls that drive growth and results.
• Mentor and lead a team of Project Managers, Engineers and Superintendents, set the standards for how projects are delivered, and develop the leaders who will grow the business with you.
• Build and grow strong relationships with major owners, engineers, municipalities and utility authorities, win repeat work, and influence which projects and markets the company pursues next.
• Develop and manage project budgets, cost forecasts and cash flow; report monthly on cost to complete and margin
• Review submittals, RFIs and design changes, and resolve technical and constructability issues
• Support estimating and preconstruction on bids, value engineering and pursuit strategy
