Safran Cabin in Santa Maria, CA, is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the operations function and shape the culture of the organization, both inside and outside Operations. You will guide strategy development and implementation, operating plans and budgets, policies and procedures, staff assessment and development, performance governance, and communications with senior management.

The role partners with functional leads to plan for current and future demand, improve systems and processes,

Qualifications

• BS/BA required; focus in industrialization or manufacturing engineering preferred.
• 4-5 years of management experience; 7-10 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Lean principles knowledge and strong communication.

The Operations Manager, plays a leading role in developing the culture of the organization both inside and outside of Operations. Responsible for providing overall leadership to the operations function, with responsibility for: strategy development and implementation; operating plans and budgets; policies and procedures; staff assessment and development; performance measurement and governance; and communications with other business units and senior management. Partner with functional leads across the organization to plan for current and future demand.

Job description:

• Improve the operational systems and processes in support of organizational goals.
• Ensure that program milestones and delivery dates are adhered to.
• Ensure Company and Customer quality standards are met.
• Facilitate Lean events with goals to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Assist with the development of individual program budgets.
• Manage labor costs and expenses.
• Promote a positive working relationship with Customers.
• Develop production floor design by examining and understanding product flow and space requirements.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing proper safety procedures.
• Evaluate Team and provide coaching to encourage professional development.

Candidate skills & requirements:

• Education: BS/BA required. Focus in industrialization or manufacturing engineering preferred.
• Experience: 4-5 years of management experience. 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Skills: Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes. Solid knowledge of LEAN principles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven experience with conflict resolution.
