Job summary

Balda-C-Brewer in Ontario, CA is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead production, maintenance, customer service and supply chain, while managing P&L and driving strategic objectives.

You will report to the General Manager, oversee budget and KPI development, ensure compliance with ISO, cGMP, FDA/CFR standards, and foster continuous improvement across the manufacturing organization.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree (Bachelor/Master) or equivalent.
• Over 10 years of experience within Operations Management and/or Technical Management in the Plastic sector: injection molding technologies, from initial idea to mass production; program management & product development expertise.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, 13485, cGMP, FDA, CFR, OHSAS; Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Leads the functions assigned, sets goals in terms of costs, time, quality, manages resources and processes.
• Defines and monitors production plans execution in terms of time, volumes, mix, quality and costs.

Salary Range: $140,000.00 To $180,000.00 Annually

The Operations Manager is responsible for achieving the short-to-mid strategic objections while managing the P&L for production, maintenance, customer service, and supply chain. Directly reporting to the General Manager to maximize processes effectiveness, readiness, synergies and standardization; ensuring high-level efficiency; minimizing costs; acting in line with the applicable standards, regulations, global manufacturing practices, and Corporate & Local procedures.

Key responsibilities:

OPERATION MANAGEMENT (Production, Maintenance, Customer Service, Supply Chain)

• Leads the functions assigned, sets goals in terms of costs, time, quality, manages assigned resources, systems and processes, working with enabler functions, delivering results in line with requirements and level of services, standards, targets, regulatory and procedures.
• Defines and monitors the production plans execution in terms of time, volumes, mix, quality and costs, reviewing and approving the local ones, according to production leaders.
• Provides effective technical resolutions for reducing complaints, increasing services, and sales demand fulfilment.
• Collaborates effectively with Quality, Tooling, Sales, and Program Management to support processes and highlight the areas of improvement.

OPERATIONS STRATEGY EXECUTION

• Participates in strategy execution of objectives by translating it into actionable plans.
• Ensures effective running of processes, business continuity and compliance in line with ISO standards, regulatory, procedures and program, enables continuous improvement mindset, processes harmonization, in coordination with involved functions.
• Oversees the promptly, effectively and efficiently corrective and preventive actions flow, coordinating the execution in compliance with applicable standards, regulatory and requirements.

MONITORING AND REPORTING

• Defines benchmarks and KPI’s for performance and identifies critical issues for corrective and preventative measures.

BUDGET MANAGEMENT

• Manages and proposes budget, including industrial equipment CAPEX, ensures fulfilment COGS & Capex and execution, manages properly the economic financial statement and capital performances according with the budget assigned.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

• Plans, organizes, manages, coaches and develops assigned staff, ensuring the effective talent management, career path, development and training.

Education & Experience:

• Engineering Degree (Bachelor/Master) or equivalent.
• Over 10 years of experience within Operations Management and/or Technical Management in the Plastic sector: injection molding technologies, from initial idea to mass production; program management & product development expertise in advanced components, drug delivery and dosing systems.

Technical Competences:

• Knowledge of Product and Production: process and features techniques.
• Continuous Improvement management: techniques, methodologies and tools knowledge (Lean Management and Six Sigma).
• Data Analysis and performances operations metrics: methodologies, techniques, tools and applications (KPI).
• System (ERP, IQMS), tools and application for the relevant processes.
• Knowledge of applicable standards such as ISO (9001, 13485), cGMP, FDA, CFR, OHSAS.
