Job summary

Allied Resources Technical Consultants in Minneapolis, MN is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the low voltage division, driving operational excellence across projects, staffing, budgets, and scheduling.

You will collaborate with engineering, design, project management, and executive leadership to deliver high-performing commercial systems, including structured cabling, security, fire alarm, AV, and building automation.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with commercial low voltage systems, including structured cabling, security, fire alarm, audiovisual, and/or building automation systems.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams, engineers, vendors, or field personnel.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously.
  • Strong experience with structured cabling installation and project delivery.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards including BICSI, NFPA, and TIA/EIA.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and executive-level customer interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall performance of the low voltage business line, including project delivery, staffing, scheduling, quality, and profitability.
  • Oversee a portfolio of commercial low voltage projects, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and meet quality expectations.
  • Manage and develop a team of engineers, designers, support staff, and technical leadership.
  • Monitor labor utilization, project margins, departmental overhead, and overall business performance.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, staffing plans, and headcount planning.
  • Serve as the executive-level contact for key customer accounts.

This individual will oversee the people, projects, financial performance, and day‑to‑day execution of the business while partnering closely with engineering, design, project management, and executive leadership.
