Job summary

Sero Search Limited is seeking an Operations Manager for the Paint & Surface Finishing unit in Michigan. You will own end-to-end production of an automated liquid spray paint line and surface prep for metal components, driving safety, quality and efficiency across all shifts.

You will report to the Plant Manager and collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain and senior leadership to deliver on-time, within budget results and a winning turnaround for the business unit.

Qualifications

• Experience leading automotive manufacturing operations or value streams.
• Hands-on ownership of automated paint or coating processes (liquid spray preferred).
• Knowledge of surface prep/pretreatment (washing, blasting, phosphating, priming) a plus.
• Proven track record leading teams through change or turnaround.

Operations Manager, Paint & Surface Finishing

The company

A global Tier 1 automotive supplier with a growing US footprint. This business unit is in a turnaround with a clear plan, real investment and leadership backing. They're rebuilding the team and want someone who can drive it.

The role

You'll run a full production unit end to end: an automated liquid spray paint line and surface preparation process for metal components. Not just output. You own the lot:

• Production, safety and people across all shifts
• Quality, scrap and customer performance for your unit
• Maintenance, uptime and OEE
• Materials and delivery
• Budget and cost
• Leading and developing supervisors, engineers and support staff

You'll report to the Plant Manager and work closely with Quality, Supply Chain and senior

What you'll bring

• Operations, Business Unit, Value Stream or APU/UAP Manager experience in automotive manufacturing
• Hands-on ownership of automated paint or coating processes (liquid spray ideal)
• Surface prep / pretreatment knowledge (washing, blasting, phosphating, priming) is a big plus
• Background in rubber, moulded or bonded components is a bonus, not essential
• Proven track record leading a team through change or a turnaround
