Job summary

ALO is seeking an Operations Manager to lead our operations team, focusing on inbound/outbound, inventory, and continuous improvement. You will drive lean practices, manage shifts, and develop your direct reports to achieve quality and efficiency targets.

The role requires a strong background in process improvement, data analysis, and team leadership, with excellent communication and a dedication to safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; HS degree or GED required.
  • Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma or similar process improvement ideologies; Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of progressive operations experience in a managerial role.
  • Experience leading teams of up to 100 associates.
  • Proven track record of driving productivity through continuous improvement.
  • Execution-focused and performance-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to motivate teams.
  • Ability to analyze data for defect identification and root cause analysis.
  • Willingness to learn all operational functions.

Responsibilities

  • Meet client SLA agreements and site‑specific quality and fulfillment targets.
  • Develop and manage daily operational strategies to keep the campus safe and productive.
  • Support and nurture the growth of direct reports.
  • Take full responsibility for client operations during your work week, including 2nd shift and weekend/donut shifts when necessary.
  • Lead the Individual Performance Management program in your area.
  • Plan, prioritize, and communicate shift directives to guarantee efficiency, accuracy, and quality.
  • Engage with clients on operational topics to ensure smooth communication.
  • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance, including setting metrics and developing new tools and processes.
  • Provide performance evaluations and constructive feedback to direct reports, including salaried management members.
  • Encourage and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the value stream.
  • Drive productivity and improvements in line with our KPIs.
  • Take ownership of lean process improvement and CI initiatives.
  • Organize and manage resources to enhance safety, quality, customer service, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure SOPs within the value stream are current and maintained.
  • Foster a culture of high accountability and associate empowerment.
  • Manage relationships with on‑site seasonal staffing representatives.

OVERVIEW

As the Operations Manager, you'll play a vital role in leading our fantastic operations team, all focused on the same value stream to build a world‑class operation. Your responsibilities will include managing inbound and pick/pack operations, overseeing outbound shipments, and maintaining inventory. You'll also be the champion for continuous improvement, fostering a lean culture that values our inventory, our people, and our processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all training and skills development programmes, along with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the value stream, are current and maintained.
  • Foster a culture of high accountability, engagement, and associate empowerment.
  • Manage relationships with on‑site seasonal staffing representatives and keep the director of operations informed about seasonal labor needs.
  • Handle budget management for the value stream.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor or manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred; a HS Degree or GED is required.
  • Experience with process improvement ideologies, such as LEAN, Six Sigma, or similar; Six Sigma certification is a plus!
  • At least 2 years of progressive operations experience in a managerial role.
  • Experience leading teams of up to 100 associates.
  • A proven track record in driving productivity improvements through continuous improvement efforts.
