OPERATIONS MANAGER

Mammoth Fieldhouse | Marion, IL

Full-Time, Exempt | Reports to Director of Operations | Operations

About Mammoth Fieldhouse

Mammoth Fieldhouse is where Southern Illinois comes to get off the bench. Pure Putt. Flight Deck. Pickleball. Battle Bats. A scratch kitchen and a full bar that would draw a crowd on their own. Open play, leagues, tournaments, and private events, all night, every night.

Three rules run our buildings: No Sidelines, No Spectators. Elite Isn't Exclusive. Competition Is Community. Everyone plays, everyone belongs, and a good time beats a good score. We do not shout. We cheer. There is a big difference, and everybody who works here learns it fast.

About the Role

You are the manager on duty who makes the night work.

The Operations Manager runs shifts. You are the senior leader on the floor for a large share of the week, closing the building, solving what breaks, and keeping every department moving at the same speed.

This role owns the operational detail that separates a good night from a bad one: the schedule that actually matches the forecast, the game area that gets reset before the next group arrives, the inventory that does not run out mid-service, and the manager log that tells tomorrow's team what happened tonight.

You are the senior operations leader under the Director of Operations, and the person running the building when they are off site. It is a builder's seat. The systems you write in year one become how this building runs.

What You'll Own

Shift Leadership

  • Serve as Manager on Duty across peak service, including nights and weekends, and as the senior leader in the building when the Director of Operations is off site.

  • Run pre-shift, deploy the team, and adjust staffing live as volume moves.

  • Own the manager log, incident documentation, and shift handoff.

  • Handle guest recovery on the floor within your authority threshold and elevate cleanly above it.

Systems and Supply

  • Own scheduling execution across operating departments against the approved labor model.

  • Manage operating supply inventory, receiving, and par levels.

  • Coordinate game area readiness, resets, and equipment condition across Pure Putt, Flight Deck, Pickleball, and Battle Bats.

  • Maintain safety walkthrough completion and submit work orders on anything that fails.

  • Support POS setup, pricing accuracy, and end-of-day reconciliation.

Team

  • Coach hourly teammates in the moment and document it.

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and scheduling for hourly positions.

  • Model the three Playbook Rules on every shift.

Your First Year

  • First 90 Days: You can close the building alone with confidence and the team wants your shifts.

  • First Year: Your shifts are the ones with the cleanest handoffs, the fewest escalations, and the best scores.

What You Bring

  • 3 or more years in restaurant, entertainment, or venue management.

  • Proven ability to run a high-volume shift without losing the standard.

  • Working command of POS and scheduling systems.

  • Comfort with inventory, ordering, and basic cost control.

  • Flexible schedule with regular night and weekend availability.

Certifications

Required, at hire or shortly after:

  • Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) through an ANSI-ANAB accredited program such as ServSafe Manager, held at hire or earned within 60 days. Illinois requires a certified manager on site during all operating hours. Valid five years.

  • BASSET certification. Illinois requires it for anyone who sells alcohol, serves alcohol, or checks IDs, within 120 days of hire. Valid three years.

  • CPR and AED certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Our courts mean we keep a trained responder on the floor every hour we are open. Renewed every two years.

  • 21 years of age or older.

A plus if you already have it:

  • Trainer level CPR and AED certification so you can certify your own team.

We pay for every certification on this list and we give you the time to get it. If you do not have one yet, that is not a reason to skip applying.

Preferred

  • Entertainment venue or multi-attraction experience.

  • Opening team experience.

Working Conditions

  • Extended periods of standing and moving throughout the venue for the duration of a shift.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Facility has intermittent noise and variable lighting.

  • Nights, weekends, and holidays required.

What We Offer

  • Base pay of $58,000 to $70,000 annually, plus performance bonus.

  • Paid leave under the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act. Up to 40 hours a year, usable after 90 days, for any reason you like. You do not have to tell us why.

  • Food, beverage, and gameplay privileges. You work here. You get to play here.

  • Every required certification paid for, plus the paid time to go get it.

  • A seat in a growing brand. More Fieldhouses are coming, and we promote the people who build them well.

Mammoth Fieldhouse Marion is an equal opportunity employer. We hire on merit, character, and the ability to make people feel like they belong here. Elite isn't exclusive. Everyone plays.
