Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking a Manager, Supply Chain Operations to oversee multiple areas critical to keeping operations running smoothly. You will champion GXO values, ensure workforce engagement, and drive efficient, safe operations across the team.

Minimum 4 years of experience, strong leadership, and a track record in logistics or 3PL environments are essential. The role is based at our Kansas City, MO facility with expectations for a flexible schedule and active participation in safety

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant work experience in logistics or supply chain management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in AS9100 or ISO environments is desirable.
• Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement knowledge is advantageous.
• Experience in warehousing or third-party logistics (3PL) environments.

• Communicate with customers, vendors and team members to ensure commitments are met.
• Uphold GXO quality policies and establish procedures to meet quality objectives.
• Provide guidance to supervisors on personnel, quality and safety matters.
• Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively.
• Recommend programs to improve operations and efficiency.
• Coordinate maintenance and handle equipment needs with the maintenance team.
• Keep records accurately and complete reports in a timely manner.
• Enforce safe work practices and OSHA compliance across departments.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Communicate with customers, vendors and team members to ensure customer commitments are met
• Demonstrate an understanding of GXO’s quality policies; establish procedures for maintaining quality objectives
• Provide guidance to supervisors with respect to personnel, quality and safety
• Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively
• Make recommendations on programs to improve operations
• Handle equipment and coordinate all maintenance needs with the maintenance team
• Ensure records are maintained appropriately and reports are completed in a timely manner
• Adhere to and enforce all safe work practices, ensuring the warehouse is compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other pertinent standards/regulations

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

• 4 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment
• Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends

It'd be great if you also have:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field
• 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience
• Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment
• Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge and experience
• Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
• Ability to maintain a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety procedures across all departments
• Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills

This job requires the ability to:

• Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights
• Stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
• Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
• Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
