Job summary

Champion Home Builders, Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee manufacturing operations at our Claysburg, PA facility. The role focuses on directing production, improving efficiency, and ensuring on-time delivery of quality products.

You will lead a team, partner with cross-functional groups, and drive cost controls, process improvements, and safety compliance. A Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years related experience or equivalent.
• Strong leadership and training abilities.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains manufacturing operations plans including programs, labor hours, cycle times, and costs.
• Contributes to product strategy and R&D of new and emerging products.
• Sets production and quality standards, budgets, and cost controls.
• Guides manufacturing process plans including personnel, materials, subcontracting and tooling needs.
• Ensures costs, quality, and delivery targets are met.
• Coordinates production with other functions and suppliers for optimum output.
• Reviews reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues.
• Manages data reporting for review and decision making.
• Defines staff responsibilities to meet business objectives.
• Trains staff on company policies, procedures, and regulations.

Summary:

Manages all activities related to operations and development of company products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, production costs, and image.
• Provides input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging products.
• Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
• Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
• Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
• Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
• Reviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
• Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
• Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages one subordinate supervisor who supervises employees in the Production Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel)
• Refined ability to delegate responsibilities and provide leadership and training to key personnel
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Possession of key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization and decision-making

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
