AdviceOne is seeking an Operations leader to manage and grow our Operations department. You will lead a team, hold people accountable, and develop skills while steering tough decisions and celebrating successes.

We value leadership over tenure here; if you're early-to-mid in your leadership journey, this is your next big step. This is a hybrid role with in-person Tuesdays in Glastonbury, CT, and support to scale.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years of direct people management.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Proven track record of holding a team accountable and developing members.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and people-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Operations team across multiple sub-departments.
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and accountability.
• Coach and mentor team members, guiding growth and progress.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve processes for efficiency.
• Partner with leadership to shape and execute department strategy.
• Ensure alignment with firm fiduciary standards and client service.

We're less interested in how long you've been managing and more interested in the leader you are becoming because of those moments. Responsibilities Include

Our Operations Manager will lead and develop the team that drives all processes both client-facing and behind the scenes that enable our firm to run smoothly. The Operations department is made up of 3 sub-departments, and we're looking for a leader who could fit one, or grow into all three. But here's what really matters: this person has to thrive on developing people. Not tolerate it, not check the box on it. Get energy from it. We're a team-managed firm, and we grow by growing our people.

• Own the day-to-day management of your team, keeping work moving and priorities clear
• Build and maintain a culture of ownership, collaboration, and accountability
• Coach, train, and develop your team; take real ownership of their growth
• Mentor team members through challenges, not just tasks, and invest in where they grow next
• Spot what's broken or inefficient and build better ways of doing things
• Partner with leadership to shape and execute strategy for your area

About You

• You’re a natural leader and get energy from it
• A proven track record of holding a team accountable and developing them, not just supervising them
• An out-of-the-box thinker who isn't afraid to take a risk or challenge how things have always been done
• A true people-person who gets work done through people, not by themselves
• You think analytically and enjoy solving complex problems
• You communicate expectations, feedback, and process changes clearly and directly
• You receive feedback well and act on it immediately
• You're organized, detail-oriented, and can manage multiple moving parts at once
• 2-5 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years directly managing people
• BA/BS degree

About Balance

• Hybrid position
• In-person on Tuesdays in Glastonbury, CT. Every other day is work from home
• 1 evening a week required (Monday through Thursday)
• Flexibility in the remainder of the week to ensure a total of 40 hours for work/life balance
