Job summary

The Davis Companies is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of our manufacturing operation. This leadership role drives production performance, supports continuous improvement, and ensures a safe, efficient, high-quality environment.

You will lead day-to-day operations, manage production planning with ERP, supervise procurement and inventory, and mentor a team across functions while collaborating with across departments to align priorities and deliver results.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in Manufacturing/Operations leadership roles.
  • Experience applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficient with ERP/MRP systems and data analysis.
  • Strong Excel skills and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet production goals, quality, and safety.
  • Monitor plant performance and implement productivity/efficiency strategies.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Develop and manage production schedules using ERP.
  • Monitor performance and adjust to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Use ERP and reporting tools to analyze data for decisions.
  • Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate processes to reduce waste and increase productivity.
  • Oversee inventory and procurement to support production.
  • Coordinate vendor relationships and material flow.
  • Ensure quality and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees; foster accountability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with CNC Manager, Sales Engineers, Drafting Department, Marketing Team, and Accounting.
  • Assist with maintenance planning and equipment reliability.

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of our manufacturing operation. This leadership role is responsible for driving production performance, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, managing procurement and inventory activities, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do
Operations Leadership
  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety objectives are consistently met
  • Monitor plant performance and implement strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and overall operational effectiveness
  • Collaborate closely with department leaders to ensure smooth workflow throughout the facility
Production Planning & ERP Management
  • Develop and manage production schedules using a cloud-based ERP system
  • Monitor production performance and make adjustments as needed to ensure on-time delivery
  • Utilize ERP and reporting tools to analyze operational data and support decision-making
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility
  • Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and increase productivity
  • Bring a fresh perspective and help drive positive operational change
Supply Chain & Procurement
  • Oversee inventory management and procurement activities to ensure uninterrupted production
  • Manage relationships with existing vendors and suppliers
  • Coordinate purchasing activities and inventory levels to support production requirements
  • Work to improve inventory control and material flow throughout the facility
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure products meet established quality standards and customer expectations
  • Support quality control processes and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and manufacturing best practices
Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees through training, performance management, and mentorship
  • Foster a positive, team-focused culture built on accountability, communication, and mutual respect
  • Motivate employees and promote continuous growth across the organization
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with the CNC Manager, Sales Engineers, Drafting Department, Marketing Team, and Accounting to align operational priorities
  • Serve as a key communicator between departments to ensure projects move efficiently from planning through production
Facility & Equipment Support
  • Monitor facility operations and assist with troubleshooting equipment issues when they arise
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance activities to minimize downtime
  • Support maintenance planning and equipment reliability efforts
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Manager, Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Production Manager, or similar leadership role
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, inventory control, and procurement
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, MRP systems, or production management software
  • Demonstrated success applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Microsoft Excel experience
  • Ability to evaluate operational data and make informed, data-driven decisions
  • Experience managing inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot production or facility-related issues
  • Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills
  • Positive, energetic, and motivational leadership style
  • Experience in food manufacturing, poultry processing, or related manufacturing environments is a strong plus
