Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking an Operations Manager at the Corrigan, Texas location. As Operations Manager, you will drive operational excellence, safety, and team development at our plywood manufacturing facility. You’ll lead a dynamic team, set a vision for safety and performance, and advance Georgia-Pacific’s goals through continuous improvement and a commitment to Principle-Based Management®.

What You Will Do
  • Champion a culture of injury-free, incident-free operations by modeling and reinforcing Georgia-Pacific’s Consistently apply PBM® principles in all aspects of operations.
  • Optimize production processes using the Machine Paced Operation (MPO) Process System. Strive for efficiency, reliability, and maximum value creation for the business.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing operations team. Facilitate team growth, conduct regular performance reviews, and manage change to ensure team alignment and engagement.
  • Oversee facility financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic reviews. Use data to drive business decisions and achieve key performance objectives.
  • Utilize Disciplined Operations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and preventive/predictive maintenance planning to identify opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Build a culture of ownership by recognizing contributions, addressing missed opportunities, and ensuring accountability at all levels.
  • Fully utilize work process systems to develop job plans, monitor completion, and promote proactive maintenance and reliability initiatives.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Five (5) or more years of supervisor manufacturing leadership experience in a plywood, wood products, paper, or other heavy industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate a culture of respect, safety, ownership, continuous improvement, and employee development while leading salaried and hourly teams.
  • Experience managing production operations and driving improvements in safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost.
  • Experience using data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to make business decisions and achieve operational objectives to include knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
  • Experience leading changes, improving employee engagement, and holding teams accountable for results.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience as a department manager in a plywood or wood products manufacturing facility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Disciplined Operations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and process optimization.
