Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Syracuse, NY is seeking an Operations Manager for the GEIS division. This onsite role leads the site’s people and processes to meet safety, quality, and customer requirements, and drives production performance.

You will partner with Supply Chain and engineering teams to optimize load and capacity, promote continuous improvement, and invest in people development while maintaining a safe, compliant work environment. Relocation within the United States is provided.

Qualifications

Job description

Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking a Operations Manager. This is an onsite position at our GEIS Headquarters in Syracuse, NY. Relocation is provided within the United States.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $130000 - $190000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the operational performance of the site – leading people and processes to achieve the site’s Safety, Quality, and Customer Requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement, serve as a liaison between the Plant Manager and the value stream managers and production supervisors, and partner with all manufacturing engineering activities to enable production processes at optimal capacity.
• Proactively implement, promote, and maintain a safe working environment through diligence in incident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, and policy enforcement.
• Fully engage workforce and promote personal accountability by identifying goals and empowering employees to drive decision making.
• Foster innovation and promote continuous learning by providing formal and informal feedback on employee performance. The Operations Manager puts specific focus and management on OTD, Gross Utilization/Productivity, and other key operational metrics.
• Partner with the Supply Chain Manager and planning department to ensure continuous alignment between demand forecasts and load/capacity plans to optimize schedule execution.
• Lead the production supervision team, headcount planning, hiring selection, talent development, foster a high-performing work team culture, performance management for the operations and production workforce.
• Guide and support facility and capital investment decisions to improve business performance and meet customer demand & quality requirements.
• Lead the Operations organization, ensuring effective talent development and organizational design to achieve the site operational, supply chain, and financial objectives.
• Partner with manufacturing engineering team to provide optimal support to all departments according to specific responsibilities.
• Drive continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements by applying appropriate Eaton Business System processes and problem-solving tools.
• Communicate openly and effectively with employees, recognizing and rewarding employees for results and teamwork consistent with Eaton’s high expectations.
• Support goals related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Flex Productivity, and People.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing people in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.
• Previous experience in a Production Supervision or Production Management role.
• Cross-functional experience with scheduling, engineering, quality, or customer service functions.
• Lean Six Sigma certified.
• Leadership experience in a high accountability culture and metrics driven environment.
