Position Summary

The Director of Operations is the face and heartbeat of SR1 CPSA — the first person parents, guardians, educators, and community members meet and the steady hand that keeps the school running smoothly day to day. This role blends high-touch people skills with strong technology fluency and a genuine love of good process. The ideal candidate is energetic, warm, and professional, builds trust quickly across every audience, and constantly looks for ways technology and process improvements can make the school run more smoothly and serve families better. The Director of Operations works closely with the Provost and executive leadership, anticipating needs and helping translate the school's culture and values into every interaction.

Key Responsibilities
Face of the Organization & Community Relations
  • Serve as the welcoming first point of contact for parents, guardians, students, educators, vendors, and visitors — in person, by phone, and by email.
  • Represent and reinforce the school's culture, values, and brand in every interaction.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with families, staff, and the surrounding community.
  • Support and help coordinate school events, tours, and community engagement activities.
  • Use technology systems (student information systems, scheduling, communication platforms, Google Workspace/Microsoft 365) to serve parents, educators, and staff efficiently.
  • Manage and improve digital communication channels — email, school messaging apps, sign-in/visitor systems — to keep information flowing clearly to families and staff.
  • Troubleshoot everyday office technology issues and know when to elevate to IT support.
  • Champion the adoption of new tools that make SR1 CPSA operations faster and more reliable.
Process & Office Operations
  • Design, document, and continuously improve front-office processes (enrollment support, visitor check-in, mail/deliveries, supply ordering, records management).
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential student and office records in compliance with school policy.
  • Manage office budget basics, vendor relationships, and facilities/supply needs.
  • Ensure consistency and follow-through so nothing falls through the cracks — big or small.
  • Provide direct administrative support to the Provost and executive leadership team, including calendar management, correspondence, and meeting coordination.
  • Prepare materials, agendas, and follow-up notes for leadership meetings and school events.
  • Act as a liaison between leadership and staff/families, exercising discretion and sound judgment.
  • Support special projects and initiatives as directed by the Provost.
Qualifications

  • High people skills — a genuinely warm, personable, and professional presence that puts people at ease.
  • Strong technology skills, with the ability to learn new systems quickly and use them to improve service to parents, educators, and the community.
  • A true love of process — someone who enjoys creating order, documenting workflows, and improving how things run.
  • High energy and a positive, can-do attitude, even when things get busy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Genuine commitment to community, education, and the mission and culture of SR1 CPSA.
