Job summary

Global Power Components, Milwaukee, WI, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimize production planning and execution. The role supports the company’s shift from Engineer-to-Order (ETO) to a scalable, medium-volume manufacturing operation, driving process improvements and organizational change.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in manufacturing or production management.
• Experience transitioning from ETO to repeatable, scalable manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP and digital inventory management tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage production schedules aligned with goals and growth targets.
• Lead the transition from ETO to repeatable, scalable manufacturing processes with focus on efficiency, cost control, and quality.
• Oversee day-to-day operations through production supervisors; provide leadership and accountability.
• Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, quality, and other teams to ensure production readiness and resources.
• Implement and refine production planning systems (ERP/MRP) and reporting for visibility and control.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Manage material availability, capacity planning, and shop floor execution.
• Promote accountability, discipline, and innovation throughout the production team.

Overview:

Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully-equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. As a result of our continued growth, we are looking for a Operations Manager to join our growing team. We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead and optimize production planning and execution as our company evolves from an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) model into a scalable, medium-volume manufacturing operation. In this role, you'll play a key role in shaping repeatable manufacturing systems and processes to support our growth as a rapidly scaling company. The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing, project management, or supply chain, along with a strong track record of driving process improvement and organizational change. This position requires someone who is aggressively pragmatic and dynamically focused.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage production schedules, ensuring alignment with operational goals and business growth targets.
• Lead the transition from ETO to repeatable, scalable manufacturing processes with a focus on efficiency, cost control, and quality.
• Execute day-to-day operations through a seasoned team of production supervisors; provide leadership, coordination, and accountability.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (supply chain, engineering, quality, etc.) to ensure production readiness and resource availability.
• Implement and refine production planning systems (ERP/MRP), workflows, and reporting tools to increase visibility and control.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Manage internal coordination for material availability, capacity planning, and shop floor execution.
• Promote a culture of accountability, operational discipline, and innovation throughout the production team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing or production management roles.
• Experience in both ETO (Engineer to Order) and CTO (Configured to Order) manufacturing.
• Experience in scaling operations / change management.
• Experience with ERP Systems and digital inventory management tools.

Preferred:

• Demonstrated experience in project management or supply chain.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet or Epicor.

Work Requirements:

• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between our facilities (<10 miles apart)
• Requires standing, walking, lifting, and handling materials.
