Position: Operations Manager, Maintenance

Core Profile: The Landscape Maintenance Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the full scope of landscape maintenance operations, ensuring that daily field activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role plays a critical leadership function, aligning operations with customer expectations, business goals, and safety requirements. The Landscape Maintenance Operations Manager provides direct oversight of crews, supports customer satisfaction initiatives, contributes to financial performance, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement across the branch.

- Talent Acquisition and Development: Supports hiring, onboarding, and development of crew leaders and technicians. Conducts regular performance check-ins and drives continuous team improvement. Accountabilities:
- Daily Operational Coordination: Lead Morning Huddles to set expectations and review daily goals with crews; Coordinate with Account Managers on job scopes, schedule adjustments, and customer feedback; Allocate crews to appropriate jobs and provide field support and direction throughout the day; Review job tickets, notes, and schedules for accuracy and efficiency
- Quality and Safety Assurance: Conduct regular job site visits to inspect quality and enforce safety standards; Ensure proper care and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment; Monitor compliance with company safety policies and provide corrective coaching as needed
- Customer Coordination and Satisfaction: Support Account Managers in addressing service concerns and customer inquiries; Identify and communicate opportunities for enhancement services; Serve as an escalation point for field-related customer issues and implement corrective actions
- Financial and Resource Management: Approve timesheets and verify daily work logs for payroll accuracy; Monitor labor and materials to ensure efficient job execution and cost control
- Strategic Communication and Collaboration: Maintain consistent communication with internal teams to align on schedules and expectations; Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to branch-level strategic planning; Support sales and operational planning through forecasting and issue resolution
- Talent Acquisition and Development: Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new crew members; Provide coaching and support for crew leaders and technicians; Conduct weekly 1-on-1 meetings with crew leaders to review performance and set improvement goals
- Preparation and Planning: Prepare materials for upcoming jobs including maps, planners, and purchase orders; Ensure customer and property information is accurate, complete, and up to date; Account for special site requirements, “no-touch” areas, and service exceptions
- Seasonal Operations Management (applicable in snow markets): Oversee snow operations during winter, including on site management and post-event reporting; ensuring adherence to safety procedures and effective execution of snow removal tasks.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred; a degree in Horticulture or a related field is highly desirable. Alternatively, a combination of education and relevant experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
- Industry Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the landscape industry, demonstrating a solid understanding of landscape production, maintenance, and service delivery.
- Leadership Experience: 2-3 years of experience in the landscaping industry; experience managing field operations, production crews or site-level services
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general PC applications, with the ability to utilize software tools for scheduling, reporting, and communication.

Working Conditions and Availability Disclosure:
- Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Outdoor conditions may include regular exposure to extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and sun. There is potential exposure to noise, dust, pollen, insects, and other naturally occurring environmental hazards, as well as moving mechanical parts and sharp objects. Work may also be performed on uneven terrain, near traffic, or in active construction or landscape zones.
- Moderate physical activity, including walking, standing, and limited lifting associated with site visits and operational tasks. Office-based duties require frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment for tasks such as scheduling, reporting, communication, and administrative planning
- Requires flexibility and a willingness to work non-standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends, depending on operational needs.
