Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks an Operations Management Trainee to build leadership and operations knowledge through an 18–24 month program. You will work with different teams to learn processes, support customer retention, and drive operational excellence.

Based in MT Pleasant, IA, the role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, weekly pay, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off. Relocation within the unit may be required after training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 1+ year in customer service.
• Strong PC skills including spreadsheets and word processing.
• Basic understanding of business finance, controls, and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer relationship activities and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with the rental department to optimize lease utilization.
• Collaborate with Sales on calls for new business and satisfaction.
• Monitor running costs and maintenance overheads and ensure policy adherence.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Asset Management, Sales and Marketing to ensure customer satisfaction.

The Operations Management Trainee ( OMT ) is an 18 to 24-month structured and comprehensive training program to develop leadership and operational knowledge. The position involves working collaboratively with different teams to gain insights into the business, processes, and strategies to align with customer retention, all facets of operational excellence, and metrics.

This position will give you a chance to utilize your problem-solving abilities to help make good business decisions for the company. With support, mentorship, and training from your managers and fellow team members, along with your willingness to relocate, you will be prepared to take the next step in a successful career. Essential Functions

• Responsible for the customer relationship activities by providing quality customer interface, proactive customer management, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with the rental department to ensure maximum utilization without compromising lease customers.
• Partner with Sales staff on customer calls for new business and increased customer satisfaction.
• Manage running costs and maintenance overheads. Ensure policy and processes are followed to optimize running costs and maintenance overhead.
• Accountable for coordinating with Maintenance, Asset Management, Sales and Marketing to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure accurate PM scheduling and follow-up, breakdowns and vehicle status updates; oversee Technician work planning for efficiency, training, and flexibility.

Additional Responsibilities

• Relocation within the business unit at the conclusion of the training program is required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Compensation Information

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
