Job summary

REM Community Services, a part of the Sevita family, is hiring an Operations Management Area Director in Somerset, NJ. The role includes directing staff, managing finances, and implementing growth strategies to increase census and occupancy while ensuring high-quality services.

You will maintain relationships with case managers, referral agents, and local officials, and collaborate with families and guardians to support individuals served. This is a full-time, salaried position offering benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3–6 years of related management experience in human services.
• Master's degree or equivalent as required by state for leadership roles.
• Licensure as required by state for the role.
• Strong leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a busy program environment.
• Effective communication to manage relationships and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, leadership, and supervision of staff at the program site to ensure quality services.
• Oversee financial performance of the area, review financial statements, purchasing, and billing compliance.
• Implement area growth strategies to increase census, occupancy, and support new start development.
• Maintain relations with case managers, referral agents, legislators, and government officials.

• Provide direction, leadership, and supervision of professional and other staff at the program site to carry out operations and ensure quality services to individuals served.
• Responsible for the financial performance of the area business unit, review financial statements, oversee purchasing, assure billing compliance, and documentation.
• Implement area core growth strategy to increase census, maximize utilization and occupancy percentages, and assist with new start development.
• Maintain and foster relations with case managers and referral agents; participate in building relationships with local legislators and government officials; lobby on behalf of individuals served.
• Implement area strategies to maintain and foster relations with individuals served, mentors, families, and guardians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three to six years of related experience with significant management experience in the human services industry
• Master's degree in Human Services, other education and experience as required by state
• Licensure as required by state
• Strong leadership qualities, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Effective communication skills to manage relationships
