Job summary

The Building People is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Specialist / Senior with an active Secret Clearance in the Washington, DC area. You will inspect building systems, support preventive maintenance, and document deficiencies while ensuring readiness and code compliance.

Qualified candidates have 7+ years of campus O&M experience, strong knowledge of facility systems, and the ability to develop plans and reports. Background checks and credentialing are required.

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Operations & Maintenance Specialist / Senior with an active Secret Clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of building systems.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Document deficiencies and maintenance requirements.
• Support transition of O&M services from GSA to DHS.
• Ensure facility readiness and code compliance.
• Assist with maintenance planning and reporting.

Experience/Skills

• Active Secret Clearance
• Minimum 7 years of experience in campus operations and maintenance
• Subject matter expertise in facility systems and maintenance best practices.
• Effective communicator and team member.
• Ability to develop plans, reports, and provide technical guidance.
• Familiarity with federal facility management standards.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Building Sciences, or related field required.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Facility Management Professional (FMP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM)) preferred
• Salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, and certifications.
