Job summary

Texas Materials, a CRH Company, is seeking candidates for the Operations Leadership Trainee program. The 24–36 month initial training period rotates trainees through production, safety, quality, finance and proposals, with mentorship and potential reassignment to a business unit for further leadership opportunities.

Travel is required for training, and relocation may be needed for advancement. Candidates should demonstrate leadership and strong communication skills in construction or building

Qualifications

The Operations Leadership Trainee program starts our recruits on a journey that will yield a rewarding career in the diverse culture of CRH. The initial training period usually lasts 24-36 months. Once the trainee's performance warrants advancement to the next phase of training, they will be reassigned to a business unit for further training or to assume a leadership role. Once the employee reaches this phase, more doors of opportunity may open as the employee continues to evaluate their interests and career goals. There is no such thing as a typical day for our Operations Leadership Trainee. Every day is different and every day brings with it a new set of challenges. They will gain skills in safety, quality control, finance, special projects and proposals, as well as the daily operations of aggregates, readymix, asphalt production, logistics, and road construction.

Job Responsibilities
  • Trainees will spend time rotating through various departments coupled with training around operations functions to include gaining knowledge of production activities, manufacturing processes, safety and quality programs, business development, customer service and much more.
  • Trainees will be assigned a mentor to aid in their growth process
Job Requirements
  • Ability to travel as needed for training purposes
  • Relocatable for advancement opportunities
  • Leadership and/or managerial skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience within the construction, building materials or related industry
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit, climb and use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move from 10 to 30 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job includes: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perceptiion.
Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud when out in the field.
