Job summary

Sprudge in Denver, CO is seeking an Operations Lead to support the shop and team behind the scenes, ensuring smooth daily operations and a hospitable experience for customers.

You will manage stock, inventory, cleaning schedules, machine maintenance, and staff coverage while upholding hospitality, excellence, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Record inventory and manage supplier orders.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of shop, bar, and back areas.
  • Administer deep cleaning schedule weekly, monthly and quarterly.
  • Coordinate maintenance of machines with owners and team.
  • Ensure coffee quality and recipe consistency through tasting and troubleshooting.
  • Check in with baristas regularly to support work and well-being.
  • Plan schedules and fill shift gaps as needed.
  • Assist with training and upholding standards for new staff.

Job description

The Operations Lead serves to support the shop and team behind the scenes, in order for all to run smoothly and efficiently to serve our customers a hospitable experience and keep our shop a beautiful place to enjoy.

Responsibilities, Tasks & Duties
Shop
  • Oversee stocking and organizing of supplies and goods consistently and regularly, including syrup/drink prep.
  • Record inventory and maintain orders with suppliers.
  • Oversee keeping shop, bar, bathrooms, sitting, merch, and back areas consistently clean, stocked, tidy and organized.
  • Oversee deep cleaning schedule for shop areas on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Oversee chores and task lists, & maintaining quality, systems, and that barista tasks are regularly being done.
  • Coordinate maintenance of machines, equipment and other scheduled tasks with owners and team.
  • Oversee quality of coffees and goods, maintain recipes by tasting and troubleshooting.
Team
  • Check in regularly with baristas to touch base and support work, well-being, technical and other needs.
  • Communicate feedback helpfully to both maintain and make improvements to the team and shop.
  • Be the first point of contact for coverage and help; communicate and set expectations for sick time/ time off.
  • Professionality navigate team dynamics, barista morale/ standing & technical skills with objectively & maturity.
  • Organize team availability, monitor schedule planning and fill in shift gaps as needed.
  • Oversee progress and assist with new barista training and maintaining standards.
  • Available to and respond to needs, questions, troubleshooting or emergencies experienced by team.
Customers
  • Check up, foster & maintain relationships with customers to connect and improve hospitality & community..
  • Receive and communicate feedback to better serve our community long term and support our brand.

Structure
  • Salary position : 50-60K
  • Avg hours- 40/week (30min and up to 60max during busy seasons)
  • General breakdown:
    • 40% Operations Lead block (20hours)– routine management and admin tasks; self-guided through operational lists & projects
    • 40% Barista block (20hours – 40%)- part-time schedule of barista shifts as needed, pop-in shifts during peak times as needed; set to be consistent but also available to be flexible
    • 10-20% Flex block– unexpected priorities, open shifts / sick days, on call / emergencies
  • PTO: 15 days a year ; 5 sick days
  • Preference for weekend availability
  • Open to negotiate, edit and customize structure to better serve mutual goals
