Job summary

ODW Logistics in Ohio is seeking an Operations Lead to direct warehousing teams, ensure safety, productivity and quality, and coordinate inbound and outbound activities on the warehouse floor. You will leverage the warehouse management system and reporting to maximize capacity, communicate with Transportation, Warehouse, and Management, and support continuous improvement across operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate’s degree in Logistics or a related field preferred.
  • 3 years of forklift experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Warehouse Management System experience.
  • Able to lead teams and meet safety, productivity and quality goals.
  • Team-oriented and able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Directs warehousing team to meet safety and productivity goals.
  • Runs reports to optimize capacity and efficiency.
  • Ensures accuracy of inbound/outbound documentation.
  • Maintains communication with supervisors and other departments.
  • Operates WMS and timekeeping systems.

Essential Functions For Operations Lead

  • Protects the accuracy, integrity, and salability of our client's inventory entrusted to us, through the adherence to standard operating procedures and meeting physical inventory and/or cycle count accuracy expectations.
  • Directs appropriate warehousing team.
  • Runs all necessary reports to determine effective action to maximize building capacity.
  • Completes all required documentation on inbound and outbound documents.
  • Reads and understands general instructions and prepare written reports.
  • Understands and uses company’s warehouse management system, and our time keeping system.
  • Handles all products according to customer and employer procedures.
  • Communicates changes in extraordinary handling procedures to office personnel. Completes warehouse worksheet.
  • Communicates and advises Supervisor of operational issues that may involve other departments.
  • Understands company goals and works to create an environment for success.
  • Supports company safety, quality, and productivity initiatives.
  • Interacts with various levels of local management concerning daily activities.
  • Complies with all other procedures outlined in the Operations & Procedure Manual.
  • Communicates effectively with Transportation, Warehouse, Management, Co-workers, and Customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • Associate’s degree in Logistics or Business-related field (Preferred).
  • 3 years of Forklift experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Warehouse Management System experience.
  • Must be able to excel in a team-oriented environment and be comfortable leading teams to achieve safety, productivity and quality goals.
  • Must be "hands on", able to handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee requires the ability to:
  • Hear, read and comprehend, write, and communicate
  • Continuously sit, type, and perform repetitive wrist motion
  • Occasionally stand, walk, bend, squat/kneel, twist/turn or reach
  • Focus (with or without corrective lenses) to see close and distant, along with depth perception capabilities
  • Moderate overtime and occasional weekend work
  • Work various shifts on short notice
  • Spend 90% of time on warehouse floor in fast-paced environmentbehalf
