- Summary:
The Operations Lead is responsible for coordinating activities of workers engaged in the production and packaging of high-quality bread and rolls, while adhering to the Production Team's top commitments of Personal Safety and Food Safety. This individual demonstrates integrity and respect, leading and directing employees through open dialogue and constructive feedback. The Operations Lead should also be proactive, embracing thorough planning and continuous improvement.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Promotes Martin's culture commitments: integrity, respect, effective communication, teamwork, quality, customer service, proactivity, and ambassadorial role, alongside bakery priorities of safety, food safety, quality, and productivity.
- Plans material flow according to work orders, ensuring materials are available and staged.
- Monitors production work orders to determine product type, quantity, and packaging requirements.
- Inspects, measures, and samples products to verify food safety and quality compliance.
- Assists workers with technical issues, troubleshooting equipment, setup, and changeovers.
- Communicates substandard products to leadership and manages product disposition.
- Completes safety, food safety, quality, and production records accurately.
- Coordinates mechanical repairs and communicates issues effectively.
- Adjusts recipes to maintain product quality.
- Maintains housekeeping standards.
- Assists in training new employees and identifies ongoing training needs for existing staff.
- Reports employee relations issues to Operations Supervisor.
- Conducts daily huddles to review bakery priorities.
- Monitors production orders and manages inventory via warehouse management system.
- Performs duties of Dough Prep or Packaging as needed.
- Collaborates with supporting departments as required.
- Enforces safety, food safety (including GMPs), and quality regulations.
- Reports food safety concerns to authorized personnel.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assigns and directs dough prep and packaging employees, ensuring policies are applied consistently.
Qualifications:
To perform successfully, an individual must meet the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-3 years related experience or training
- Bilingual preferred
- Ability to pass Food Safety HACCP training and competency test
Additional Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding bakery analytics and KPIs
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and bakery systems
- Willingness to travel up to 5%
Leadership Skills:
Ability to influence and motivate others towards organizational initiatives.
Language and Skills:
Ability to interpret instructions, safety rules, and manuals; communicate effectively in small groups.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
Reasoning Ability:

Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and smell. Frequently lift up to 20 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
