POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations Lead runs the daily operation of the Lodi warehouse. This is a working position on the floor. The Lead builds and checks orders, operates a forklift, manages shipping and receiving, dispatches delivery routes, and maintains inventory accuracy.

The Lead is the second in command at the location and is expected to operate with limited direct supervision. The position works closely with drivers, warehouse personnel, and the LMG Ag Products key account managers who depend on accurate and on-time delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipping, Receiving, and Order Building
  • Receive inbound product, verify against paperwork, and stage or store it correctly.
  • Build outbound orders accurately and on schedule.
  • Operate a forklift safely for loading, unloading, staging, and put-away.
  • Stage and load delivery vehicles so routes leave on time.
  • Process returns, transfers between locations, and product movement documentation.
Quality Control
  • Verify product, quantity, unit of measure, and conversion on every order before it leaves the building.
  • Confirm order paperwork matches what is physically on the truck.
  • Identify and correct order errors before delivery rather than after.
  • Document quality control issues, determine where the error occurred, and report it.
Dispatch and Delivery Coordination
  • Dispatch delivery routes and adjust for order timing, geography, and equipment availability.
  • Communicate with drivers throughout the day on route status, changes, and issues.
  • Coordinate with key account managers on delivery status, shortages, delays, and customer requirements.
  • Address delivery problems as they occur rather than waiting for the next morning.
  • Perform cycle counts on a consistent schedule and reconcile variances.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, product location accuracy, and warehouse organization.
  • Investigate discrepancies and identify the process that caused them.
  • Communicate shortages, overstock, and seasonal needs to the Branch Manager and procurement.
  • Maintain proper storage and handling of restricted-use, hazardous, and regulated products.
Safety, Facility, and Team
  • Follow and enforce safety requirements, training, and documentation.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and secure.
  • Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance needs before they become downtime.
  • Direct the daily work of warehouse personnel and assist with training.
CORE VALUES

LMG Ag Products hires, reviews, and separates based on our core values. They are used in the interview, in quarterly reviews, and in every decision about who stays on this team. A candidate can be capable and still not be a fit here.

Seeking Forward Progress

Better today than yesterday through repetition, education, and self-improvement.

Hard working, forward driven, doing what is not easy.

Customer Centric

Seamless interactions, caring, problem solving.

Communicate Effectively

Delivering a clear message, asking questions, seeking clarity.

Excellence Is Expected!

Going above and beyond. Expect excellence from all.

WHAT THIS POSITION REQUIRES

The Lead is expected to identify what needs to happen and act on it without being told. This position is a poor fit for someone who needs day-to-day direction or who prefers to assign the floor work rather than do it.

Our core values are expected to be lived by, not just known. They are how this team works every day and how performance is evaluated.

The position also requires the following:

  • Forklift experience and the ability to be certified.
  • Experience in warehouse, distribution, dispatch, or agricultural operations.
  • Accuracy with units of measure, conversions, counts, and documentation.
  • Comfort with warehouse and inventory software, and willingness to learn new systems.
  • Clear and prompt communication with drivers, managers, and key account managers.
  • Ability to lift, load, and remain on the floor for the length of a shift.
HOW PERFORMANCE IS MEASURED

Performance is reviewed quarterly against defined measures rather than once a year. Those measures include:

  • Order accuracy and quality control error rate.
  • On-time departure and on-time delivery.
  • Inventory accuracy and cycle count variance.
  • Safety record and completion of required training and documentation.
  • Warehouse condition, organization, and equipment upkeep.
  • Responsiveness to key account managers and customer-impacting issues.
  • Demonstration of the LMG Ag Products core values.
GROWTH

LMG Ag Products is growing and this position is built with that in mind. The Operations Lead is the second seat at the Lodi location, and the person in it is expected to develop toward broader responsibility for the location over time. Advancement is earned against the measures above.
